Midori 0.5.8. some questions ( or 0.5.11)

#1 Post by Pelo »

Midori 0.5.8
To renew topic Midori 0.4.3 obsolete.
Post your feed-backs dear users of slim, tiny, mini Puppies (Midori is as light browser)
Midori versions of the past starting 2011 (jenimah)
Version 0.5.8 test bench with X-Slacko Slim here Mistfire replaced Firefox to keep his Puppy Slim.
Personally, no trouble with this Version 0.5.8 since a week, what was not really the case with previous versions. Even You Tube works better than with usual light browsers.
On try with Carolina Puppet, grey008 version, XFCE Puppy remasterized by buckaroo50, and more full-featured than X-Slacko official version, Firefox as default browser.

If you want a working midori package. Just do the
following:
1. Boot latest x-slacko slim in
pristine state.
2. Run remove-builtin package.
3. Select midori then click Ok
4. If you see a warning click Yes
5. You will ask to create a pet
packages for backup. Click Yes.
Take note you will need libsoup,
libunique, libsecret, webkitgtk, libnotify, libsexy,
gnome-networking, gstreamer-0.10,
gst-base, gst-good, and gst-ffmpeg in
order the midori browser worked perfectly

beware not so easy to install Midori. version 5.11 downloaded from devuan is a pity, however no dependancies missing. Use Palemmoon , palemoon will fit most of your needs.
