@Rcrsn51

Does that PET install symbolic links for systems with libgcrypt20?
Or does it install a secondary, libgcrypt11, to those systems?

Curious.

Update: CamPhoneTab v1.5 introduces support for iPod/iPad/iPhone devices, especially new models that are not otherwise recognized. Thank you to rockedge for his help with this. See the Update in the main post.

I want to test the iPad 3

#45 Post by tenochslb »

I got confused and installed hot plug 1.0.
I know it is my fault but it can get confusing, so to clarify I need to install the version 1.5, correct?
Do I remove hot plug 1.0 before I try version 1.5. Do I need both pets?

You need the main CamPhoneTab PET. The hotplug PET is optional. The order you install them shouldn't matter.

iOS 9 + iPad 3

I installed version 1.5 and my iPad 3 is recognized. I was able to transfer files.

The hotplug pet did not make any difference, I still had to go to menu>filesystem to connect.

Excellent. Thank you for reporting.

Please try this hotplug instead. Unplug/replug your ipad after installing it.

[Edit] Or maybe reboot your computer.

[Edit] The updated hotplug PET is now on page 1.

The new hotplug pet worked. I did reboot using the previous hotplug pet.

That's great news.

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you set the Connection Mode to Camera. Can you access the DCIM folder?

Thanks. Rockedge reports that he can go into the iTunes_Control folder and play the music files, although the filenames are scrambled. Can you do the same?

We spent a great deal of time trying to access the iTunes database through gtkpod using the work of tempestuous here. But it was ultimately unsuccessful with the next-gen models that we are trying to support here.

Question
  • Is the 64bit version still being withheld or is v1.5 a version which works on all x86 technologies?
Thanks in advance for your reply to this post.

I did not find any music to play in the folder.
I am unfamiliar with database files, so may be there is a way to play them.
Take a look at the structure:

I'm guessing that with each new generation, Apple has made it more difficult to access your music except through the iTunes interface.

As much as people seem to dislike Android, I can upload music onto an Android device via MTP pretty well any way I want and get it to play.

You avoid my question??? Yes/No???

Of course, no answer is perfectly OK if you feel it appropriate to the package.

Thanks. 64bit remains a PM only option.
