IBM 600X can't read/write 1G Corsair
Am working on getting Puppy on my 1G Corsair USB stick via my IBM 600X.
MTools reports the stick as drive b: and empty.
When I try to copy a txt file from harddisk to b: I get a bunch of text at the bottom that makes little sense to me but I gather is trying to tell me that the copy failed and why.
When I plug the same stick into my newer laptop it shows files vmlinux, usr_cram.fs, syslinux.cfg, and image.gz
If I recall correctly this came from my effort to load Puppy on the USB stick.
Am I wasting time trying to work with the IBM 600X? Perhaps I should try to swap my IBM 600E and 600X toward something a little more modern?
The newest Sharp linux handheld pc/pda looks promising ... wonder if it could handle Puppy?

Do you have any other OS you could use to try on that computer? Knoppix, perhaps, or Puppy 1.0.2 (with 2.6 kernel.) Even Windows, if you're really a glutton for punishment.
