Just downloaded the new Slacko 64... can't get HP 1050 all-in-one printer to work (one of the first tests I do)... you have the new hplip-3.16.5 HP version for downloading however, your download site isn't working? So tried the 3.16.5 package from the PPM and that got scanner working but not the printer. The download said one file was missing- libpython3.7.so.1.0 - don't know if that makes the difference or not?
Just thought I'd pass it on to you! I'll try your download site in a day or so and see if it's UP I'll try your 3.16.5 .pets and see if that corrects things...

I'm testing slacko64-6.9.6.1. I can confirm that package hplip_print_scan_64bit-3.15.9.pet has a bad /usr/lib64/cups/filter/hpcups filter. My workaround is:
1- Download only hplip-3.16.5-x86_64-3.txz by PPM.
2- Install Uextract 3.25.pet
3- Install hplip_print_scan_64bit-3.15.9.pet
4- Rename /usr/lib64/cups/filter/hpcups as /usr/lib/cups/filter/hpcups.old
5- Extract /usr/lib64/cups/filter/hpcups from hplip-3.16.5-x86_64-3.txz and use it instead of hpcups.old.
In my testing I have copied in /root/Startup the following script:
You can use it to restart cups. It was useful in other puppies using an adrv.sfs:

A new full functional hplip package should be built for this puppy.

The following package works for me in slacko64-6.9.6.1 in a pristine install:
