REQUEST: Update jwm

#1 Post by B.K. Johnson »

@666philb

Code: Select all

root# jwm -v
JWM vgit-976 by Joe Wingbermuehle
JWM in Tahrpup stays at vgit 976 since 2 years. <Dynamic> is not yet implemented.
The current version on Joe's website is 2.3.6.

Is there a possibility of an update soon. At least 1 application awaits it.

Thanks

Hey, how about that? I missed this!

==

There's a 1553 snapshot. This one's REAL current.

Go ahead, "dare to be brave.." 'Cause I can sense your curiosity.

Dwnld'n unpack. With your devx loaded, run "./configure" and back-scroll to observe the output.

Run "./configure --help" to examine the options. I don't claim to understand all of these, but a few are obvious.

You can compare them to your current build.

Hi.

Compiled JWM 2.3.6 in tahr 602 and tahr64 605.

Options used for compiling.

Tested successfully the 32bit version in Xenial 7.0.4, Unicorn 6.0 and Vivid beta2.

Running JWM 2.3.6 now in almost all of my T.O.P.L.E.S.S. made Puppies:

- tahr 6.0.2, 6.0.5
- tah64 6.0.5
- unicorn 6.0
- vivid beta2
- xenial 7.0.4

Slacko currently still untested.

Xenial64 7.0.7 currently still untested, though it should run also.

No, but I gave my old drum kit away for free to a music store collecting instruments for refugees! :wink:

Curious, yes. Suicidal, no! I need a dedicated machine for those kinds of suicidal sorties without parachute. And after my near-death experience with MRUF-lst, no way, Jose! Semme, you don't mean me any good, mate. :lol:

Thanks for the 2.3.6 pets, Lazy Puppy, but MochiMoppel raised some concerns for inexperienced people like me, so I'm hesitant.

:D Yeah, but you run frugal. Don't you have any backups?

And besides, nowhere did I say run "make install."

Backup? Yes, but I have other puppies on the same flash and you know what stray bits are like. I just want to play it safe.
