Hi Galbi,

I'm not sure I understand your comment "A button with the "Open Terminal Here" would be very useful, too", but if you display any directory and then press and release the keyboard backtick which is immediately below the Esc key on my UK keyboard the terminal should open there.

About saving at 'Real Locations', I thought symlinking folders was a linux thing.

Yes, as you say, in the UK/US keyboard, but the spanish keyboard layout does not have that key.
(BTW, which is the use of that key?)

How do you live without right-click though?

On a touchscreen tablet it has been necessary to create a new "root:1" menu on the desktop to allow the backslash "" key to be passed to rox filer. This has the effect of bringing up the rightclick rox menu - which incidentally would also allow galbi to access the "window/open terminal here" function.

Yes ASD, thanks for your concern, I already know (and use a lot) that item in the menu. It's a matter of more comfort (or my laziness) to have a button, and not to have to go through the menu.

Just had a try at changing the shortcut on my system (Slacko 6.3.0.1 32bit) but could not get it to work. Had to create the "mine" file and tried restart of jwm and also restart x but no joy. Will try further testing later today i hope.

ps: does rox have a config file that retains that setting or is it one of those changes thatmust be done after each reboot?

Try putting in in the main gtkrc for a start, or check the ... mine file has actually been included.

Somehow I get:
/lib/libm.so.6: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [ROX_Filer] Error 1
Compile failed
Press Return...
Was trying to compile rox-filer-2.11 on tahrpup605(32b)PAE,
similar error also in Precise571 and Unicorn... don't have other to test right now.
So, is there some special trick to get it to compile?

What good is the Rox-Panel?
Or.. is there any real use for it?

Rox-panel is a panel just like any other panel (lxpanel, wbar, etc). It's an application launcher. Its rather spartan but if you don't want to invest in another panel, Rox provides one for you.

I have changed my mind - I think it would be more useful to include an icon which brought up the rightclick context menu. That way "create new directory" function and a whole host of other functions would be available from that one icon.

This would be a great asset on touch screens.
(ok if you want to use keyboard shortcuts you can use the backslash key or the menu key to access the rightclick menu but it would be nice to have that ability direct from a touchscreen).
