How to connect Puppy to my cable modem?

#1 Post by totalbell »

Hi,

I installed Linux Puppy on my system last month. I am having trouble configuring the adapter settings for ethernet connection. Can you help me solve it? I am not able to use the internet. I am not getting connected.
I have connected to my modem using the ethernet cable. The modem is Huawei MT130u Cable Modem. https://www.acanac.com/hardware/huawei- ... kage=cable

What should I do to get internet access?

hey bell

it's helpful to know which puppy you are using

but if you have a working live ethernet cable plugged in the pc

then

menu>setup>internet connection wizard

click wired or wireless lan
click simple network setup
select eth0
click test if it finds a live network
click auto dchp

:)

It sounded to me like Bell is having trouble connecting the computer (Puppy) to the cable modem via Ethernet cable, so I edited the subject line.

Puppy version is Precise 5.5

let me go through your instructions and see if that works.
Thanks.
