Fatdog64 Contributed Packages and SFS
jpeg tools
Not a contributed package, just a menu for packages that are already here, but I hope it's useful. There are so many gems hidden away in Fatdog and other puppies that I tend to make lists when I stumble on them. For convenience, I have collected a few jpeg utilities into a small script. There are of course other ways to accomplish each of these operations (gimp, mtpaint, PeasyScale, PeasyPDF etc.) , but I do them so often that a simple script saves me much time.
Drag & drop, or customize right-click menu for jpeg files. Options 1 & 2 are 90 degree lossless rotations. Option 3 reduces largest dimension of the photo to 1000 pixels. Option 4 converts to pdf and 5 shows exif data, if any. New file is renamed and the original is retained.
Issues
-In Xdialog version, mtPaint command line is used to resize. In mtPaint, Images/Preferences/Max memory must be increased for for this operation to succeed. 64MB works for me for a 5MB image file. (gtkdialog version uses pamscale instead of mtPaint.)
-In Tahr, the jpeg operations work, but Xdialog --menubox produces a gtk-critical error. Xdialog --checklist works and gtkdialog is fine.
-Some versions of tiff2pdf (e.g. in fatdog 701 and Precise) distort colors when jpeg quality (-j -q##) switch is used. Without this switch, though, the pdf is huge. jamesbond added newer version to repo, or see here.
-Exif data is lost from output file in options 3 & 4.
-Lossless rotation may fail for odd-sized images; see man jpegtran
-Sorry for so many edits; I keep tinkering :/

Compiz-Reloaded for Fatdog-710
A couple of months ago I managed to build Compiz-Reloaded and have been using it exclusively ever since.
It's relatively stable, however some glitches occur occasionally.
So, if you strongly prefer stability, better don't use it.
You can grab it from: http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/contri ... 6_64-3.sfs
Special thanks to forum member step for pre-release testing!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Greetings!

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- This build works only on Fatdog-710.
- Make sure this SFS is set to be loaded at boot (use 'System SFS Loader' instead of ROX's 'Load SFS' right-click option), otherwise you won't get into X after reboot.
- You can switch between JWM, Openbox and Compiz using 'Menu -> Desktop -> WM Switcher'.
- If you use another composite manager (xcompmgr, compton, etc.), you must deactivate it permanently before starting Compiz.
- Don't increase number of desktops ('Menu -> Desktop -> CCSM -> General Options -> Desktop Size -> Number of Desktops'), let it be 1, or else you may lose LxQt-Panel and ROX Pinboard after switching to another workspace.
Changing 'Horizontal/Vertical Virtual Size' is ok, though and LxQt-Panel's desktop switcher can recognize and switch between these virtual workspaces (4 by default) just fine. - Don't enable 'Cube Atlantis' and 'Unredirect Fullscreen Windows' at the same time, because this combination may crash Compiz while starting X.
- Tearing in video playback and/or poor FPS in fullscreen apps - enable 'Menu -> Desktop -> CCSM -> General Options -> General -> Unredirect Fullscreen Windows'.
- And last, but not least - if anything went wrong and you can't get into desktop, remove this file:
and start X (xwin) - you'll be back in Openbox.
Code: Select all
rm ~/.fatdog/windowmanager
Greetings!

Latest Google chrome Version 53.0.2785.92 (64-bit) SFS.
Built Yesterday.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/djwik ... ficial.sfs
I always make sfs for chrome to use in Fatdog64.
Following Files are added to the .deb downloaded from google after extracting it to a folder...
/usr/bin/google-chrome-spot (This is used to run chrome as user spot, I will give you the script)
/usr/bin/google-chrome-stable (This is just a symlink to /opt/google/chrome/google-chrome)
/usr/lib64 (In this folder all libs from /usr/lib64/seamonkey/ are symlinked)
/usr/share/pixmaps (This contains Google-chrome.png icon)
The .desktop file in /usr/application is edited to point to google-chrome-spot.
All files and folders were applied chmod 0755
And then chrome-sandbox was made chmod 4755
Other than that nothing is changed.
The changes made are same as fatdog's google chrome download and install script.

Hi Step - I am struggling to find the correct xdotool and libxkbcommon for Slacko 64. Do you have a version that will work please? cheersstep wrote:xdotool 20140805 latest git version, and required dependency libxkbcommon 0.5.0. xdotool lets you simulate keyboard input and mouse activity, move and resize windows, etc.

Hi greengeek, I don't know if they'll work for Slacko 64. Dependecies are libX11, libXinerama, libXtst, and libxkbdcommon. My guess is that you need only install libxkbcommon for Slacko64. I'm attaching the very latest builds for Fatdog64, 100% UNtested by me. Please report if these work on Slacko. Thank you.greengeek wrote:Hi Step - I am struggling to find the correct xdotool and libxkbcommon for Slacko 64. Do you have a version that will work please?

Are you using Fatdog64's package manager (gslapt)? That's what you need. And make sure you have the contrib source set in /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc(I cann't seem to get them via PPM - maybe I just don't understand how to use the new PPM version..)

Anyway, you can get the old archive files directly from ibiblio http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/contrib/packages/700/. I haven't uploaded the newer versions to ibiblio yet.
Cheers!

Here's a link to an sfs built on and for Fatdog64-710, which is in beta. I have no idea if they work on 702. Thank you. Great! Thanks for the quick response. I am currently running the Fatdog64-710 alpha (only noticed in recent days that the beta was released) and the sfs does work with that. Moving to the Fatdog64-710 beta asap.step wrote:Here's a link to an sfs built on and for Fatdog64-710, which is in beta. I have no idea if they work on 702. Thank you. No, I am not using Fatdogs gslapt. Is that something I should use in Slacko? Are you using Fatdog64's package manager (gslapt)? That's what you need. No. I had misunderstood your intentions about running Fatdog64. No worries, if you need to borrow a package from Fatdog64 just navigate in your browser to the same links I gave you above and grab the txz files directly. They're xc compressed tar archives. Thanks for the feedback on the packages I linked above.greengeek wrote:No, I am not using Fatdogs gslapt. Is that something I should use in Slacko?

Hiawatha 10.4
This is the latest Hiawatha Webserver as of now. This is my first attempt at making a pet/package. Compiled on 702 with Kernel 4.4.3. It shouldn't need any dependencies.

Edit: 11/29/16 6:35 AM EST. The computer that the server is connected to lost its internet connection; It won't be available until I get home from work later and reconnect it.
12/2/16 Just installed and started hiawatha with this pet/package on 710b2 and it works.

Thank you, Gobbi, for making this new package! It works well for me, so it has replaced my older version on my PC.
Exiftool reads/writes metadata information for lots of file types (audio/video and more), so I find it convenient to add it as a rox right-click SendTo item. Here's how.
Install Gobbi's package.
Open one rox window in ~/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/SendTo. Click the eye icon. If you don't see a folder named ".all" create one. Do the same for a folder named ".group".
Open _another_ rox window in /usr/local/apps.
Drag the folder "ExifTool" in the second window over the folder ".all" in the first window, drop and select "Link absolute". Do the same over the folder ".group". Note: Do include a single dot before the names "all" and "group".
Now when you select one or more objects in a rox window and right click you should see an "ExifTool" entry in the top popup menu, or sometimes in the SendTo sub-menu. Click that entry to view an Xdialog window holding a (long) list of metadata information for the selected objects.
Exiftool works also from the command line: exiftool --help

Wine 2.0.RC3 (Clipboard issues patched)
Here is a small contribution. It's something I have wanted for many years.
This is the latest build of Wine with Clipboard issues patched. It is 32-bit only.

To describe what is possible with this version of Wine, here is a scenario:

Code: Select all
I use a HQ TTS voice installed in Wine, along with a TTS Reader to utilise it. With this build of Wine, I can highlight a news article in Chrome (Autocopy extension installed), and the TTS Reader will automatically start reading the text as it has been monitoring Fatdog64's clipboard.
Re: Wine 2.0.RC3 (Clipboard issues patched)
Thank you, Jake, so far it seems to run well here, and the clipboard integration between Linux and Windows is very useful, something I have missed a lot in other versions. I'm not familiar with the clipboard patch, can you please point me to info and download pages where you got it?jake29 wrote: This is the latest build of Wine with Clipboard issues patched.
