libre office draw

#1 Post by pp4mnklinux »

Hello everybody:

I'm working with Libre Office draw (instead of publisher for windows) at my puppy linux, and I've got a problem.

I can't put borders to a page and I need to do this.

How can I put a specific image repeated a lot of times to make a border as I made with publisher???

Can I do it with draw or must I start WinShit to do this action??

THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE

It seems that Windows shat on Linux for you then.
Of course there is a way, but why should I tell you if you have that attitude??

This works for me.

In Writer -choose 'Format' from top menu bar , then 'Page' and then 'Borders' tab
create your border using colour and style you prefer

Is this what you were looking for?

Edit: Sorry Man - I did not read your note correctly - you were talking about 'Draw' not 'Write' sorry.

Anyway, like you I could not find the page border commands in 'Draw' but this workaround gives a similar effect.
(a) create an empty 'box' shape using whatever tool you like. Make the border of the box whatever style and colour you like
(b) save it as a graphic object (png, jpg or whatever)
(c) in your 'Draw' page got to 'Properties', Page' and then insert the image

It will scale the empty box to fill the page and if you want you can update your 'master' template for the future.

Are you always so derogatory about other things?
If so you are going to hava a very hard life.

By calling Windows shit you just happened to insult me as I spent the whole of my working life supporting it.

Linux does NOT solve all problems otherwise it would be more prevalent in the business world. There is room for both without name calling.

pp4mnklinux,
if you're looking for something similar to MS-Publisher, why don't you use scribus?
