For Dog-based OS, you install:
moc moc-ffmpeg-plugin

mocp in terminal will show you a list of directories.

You navigate to your music directory and click enter to play your music files.

In case you are with OSS, instead of Alsa, you can start your mixer with ossxmix in terminal, a GUI will appear with volume controls.

SFS module from AptToSfs is just 6.7mb.

When using MOC, to have MOC playing in the background, just type q, freeing your terminal. To stop server and player, you type Q (Quit).

To toggle between files and playlists, you press TAB.

To have list of commands type h.

I installed MOC in Mintpup without problem and use ossxmix for volume control.
