Slac and xerus 8.1.6

#1 Post by srirakesh »

Hi,

I have an AH532 Fujitsu Notebook with following config
Core i3/6Gig RAM/750 Gig HDD with Intel HD Graphics 4000 running Win8.1 having Secure Boot disabled as told by Barry

Not able to boot from pendrive after creating it with using terminal commands for both of the distros.

It says "Making partition usable" and stays there forever.

Pendrive was created in RHEL v6.4 running in VMWare Workstation.

Is this a problem of UEFI or something else?

One more question can a 8Gig image of slac or xerus-8.1.6-amd64-8gb.img be converted to iso?

Pl advice and thanks in advance

Best answer is my last...Youtube.

Specs:

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Fuj ... 495.0.html

:::::::

This model has well known booting problems that affect the bios.
I have seen some awful Ubuntu moments tonight with this Lifebook
after checking some Ubuntu posts.

Nevertheless have you tried a different usb port.

Connections
1 Express Card 34mm, 1 USB 2.0, 3 USB 3.0 / 3.1 Gen1

Some usbs boot better than others on certain laptops.
A HP I was given only saw an old 1 gig LG usb and a Sandisk Cruzer
in the bios.
No matter what I did would that crapheap would not pick up some usbs such as Lexar. Drove me crazy till I woke up what was happening.

Also Fujitsu have this.
Be bloody careful with bios passwords...make it simple.

Like 1234 etc etc.
