I use ubuntu on a thumb drive and recently discovered that usb drive is not recognized and i found the fix: partially remove, slightly, the usb drive and then it recognized. I hope this helps with anyone with puppy or other linux installed on thumb drive or even just to use it! Especially happens on san disk micro drives.
