huge-kernels for woof-ce puppies |
|
Post links here to any huge-kernels that you've made and uploaded that are suitable for use in woof-ce system builds and/or the change-kernels utility.
Post both the kernel .bz2 and the kernel-sources.sfs....
These are in addition to the excellent work by stemsee in producing kernels at: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=96723
Other collections of huge kernels can be found at:

Hi peebee.
What is the zdrv used for, then?
Besides, does it really matter in which ?drv the firmware is?
All these ?drv's get loaded at start-up anyway,
BFN.

The zdrv is the kernel....
The drv name determines the order in which the .sfs are loaded and therefore what is "visible" at the end of the loading process.
Firmware should go into the fdrv....

The Linux Kernel Organization have in the last couple of weeks extended all the LTS kernels E.O.L. time frames to be a minimum 6 years. So 4.14.x, which has been designated the next LTS kernel will be maintained until probably early 2024 at least.

Hi peebee, Just a question on how to determine if the kernels in your lxpup Huge Kernel archive are 64 bit or 32 bit. You have stated that 64 bit kernels are usable in 32 bit puppies, but they don't appear to be identified as 32 or 64 bit kernels. In particular, is the 4.9.56 kernel 64 bit.
Thanks in advance.
Terry

Hi peebee.
OscarTalks. He's using that kernel for his DPupStretch-7, on purpose, IIRC.
(He explains it briefly on the DPupStretch thread. I'll be back with the URL
when I have a minute.)
BFN.
