If anyone feels up to it could i request an article outlining the general usage of all the x..drvs eg: adrv, zdrv, fdrv etc?
What files would one put where - and why?

+1 on this. It certainly needs more attention.
BTW, great effort @smokey01.
A lot of good reads, considering lenghty hiatus in using Puppy.
Thanks a lot & keep it up!

i Browsed all multimedia (2016) |

eh eh eh pay attention. I was quiet burned when i browsed all multimedia and graphics programs existing in this forum..
We cannot give the opinion that old programs are all unserviceable.
Some will work on all Puppies, even just born
Some will work on classical puppies as Racy 5.2.2 5.3 5.5 Saluki (smokey know them)
Some work on some puppies (rare) , i cannot give explanations.
Each time i post the result, ignoring flames and shots.
Truth is that people posting now are not interested in application for leasure time of our thousands of passengers. There has been a little kick out by some developers (learners)
Business is compltely given up, in spite of people argue they buy a computer for that. Games is the same, however people play a lot with a computer.
Isn't it strange ??? our forum looks like the blackboard of a mathematics classroom, full of formulas. People escape.
i could explain by the fact that many forum suscribers are from educational world, and they miss teaching. I am not blaming them. But wen you post to feed back that XFCE apps wil do the job, you are quite disturbing people installing kernels and kernels..

Thanks smokey01 for the Puppy Linux newsletter. Always read it and find it full of useful tips. Organising photos is one of my hobbies and your article in the July edition was very useful. Mike

I've got to also thank all the contributors for their efforts - succinct and really useful info that is timely for my projects that crop up or have been sitting on the backburner awaiting for such impetus the Newsletter provides. Obviously the recent newsletter regarding photo archiving, image editing (wish I could make the best out of mtpaint - http://puppylinux.org/wikka/UsingMtPaint; http://mtpaint.sourceforge.net/handbook/en_GB/chap_00.html; https://opensource.com/article/17/2/mtpaint-pixel-art-animated-gifs; http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=780134#780134 touch on some of the non-intuitive quirks), tips like using wget automagically for accurate downloads from browser links, command-line calculator etc are ones that come to mind as I now use regularly. I really enjoy the biographies of various Puppy stalwarts. You do a fabulous job smokey01 [EDIT - !!] and co-editors, and this is a really appreciated resource.
Do you have a wish-list of topics perhaps that can be divvied-up by potential contributors? Myself I find difficult to think of a topic I have any knowledge of that might suit the Newsletter format,
Cheers again
