Chkdsk runs automatically after booting Tahrpup USB

#1 Post by Barkin »

I've made a live USB of Tahrpup, (Tahr64-6.0.5), and everything works well.

However when returning to Windows, Chkdsk runs automatically because of "consistency" problem in the USB stick, but finds no error ...
The type of the file system is FAT32.
Volume TAHR 2017 created 10/06/2017 07:31
Volume Serial Number is XXXX-XXXX
Windows is verifying files and folders...
File and folder verification is complete.
Windows is verifying free space...
Free space verification is complete.
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems.
I have live USBs with Lucid Puppy, they don't trigger Chkdsk.

I have tried all the different bootloader offered by Tahrpup when creating the USB stick,
Chkdsk still runs automatically because of "consistency" problem.

Hello Barkin

All of the Woof-CE Puppies that I have tried have this problem. They don't do a clean shutdown when the savefile is on a FAT32 partition.

The VFAT driver complains about it, the init script complains about it and so does Windows.

Fatdog is OK

I haven't tried any recent Puppies on my PC which has Windows, so I don't know whether it has been fixed in Woof-CE. Xenialpup64 puts the fsckme flag on the partition, so I assume that it hasn't.

Just as a warning though!!

While this IS a known problem and needs fixing, be aware that there just may be a REAL problem that occurred, so it is still a good idea to let it check.

Not just me then, that's good to know, thanks LateAdopter.
