I am trying to burn 2 episodes of a series to a DVD.
I am using a frugal install of 5.2.8 with Pburn 3.3.4.
Everything seems to go correctly until the very end when a message pops up with something like, "Disk is not writable"
I began with a magmedia DVD-R and then tried a TDK DVD-RW disk with the same result.
Any ideas please?

pBurn is up to version 4.3.16.
So, updating it is a good idea.

Before doing anything.
Start Pburn.
Check to make sure you have the correct device selected as the disc drive burner.
Preferences->Burner Device
With a disc in the burner drive.
Click on Tools->Disc Info....
Does it seem to give correct info about the disc?
Preferences->General
Make sure the selected temporary storage location has enough free space!!!

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

Mercedes, if bigpup's advice doesn't do the trick, you should post this in the Pburn thread. Zigbert is more likely to see it there.

@bigpup, The download link for the later Pburn is not working.
I went through your steps and all seems to be OK.
@rcrsn51, I am trying to burn two .mpg files. Pburn indicates that total time is 118 minutes and the combined file size is less than DVD capacity.
I have tried several more times - the advantage of RW! - and I now get two directories on the DVD, one is audio_ts and the second is video_ts
The audio_ts directory is empty, and
the video_ts directory has the following files
video_ts.bup , video_ts.ifo , vts_01_0.bup and vts_01_0.ifo
File sizes are video_ts 6144 bytes and the vts files are 12K
As an aside I notice that the information screen at the start of the burn shows NTSC although I have selected PAL.

Have you done this?

Make sure the selected temporary storage location has enough free space!!!
I would make it something other than the normal temp directory.
Make it a directory outside of the save.
Good location is /mnt/home
A directory there is just on the partition.
It can use all the free space still in the partition.
You need about 2 to 3 times the free space as the data being burned.
What you are burning are big data files.

Sorry for the silence. The phone has been down since Wednesday afternoon I have tried to get wireless working on my various Puppy installs without success. More research and then maybe the subject of another thread!
I am cheating to post this - an Odroid U3, Debian Jessie and the mobile phone as a hot spot.
In my youthful ignorance I assumed the temp space was simply a drive but it seems it must be a directory. That and other operator errors have been corrected so I now have a DVD.
The only issue is that lip sync is quite bad. At this stage I have not searched for a possible solution.
rcrsn51, bigpup and Flash - thank you for your help.
At this stage I will mark the thread as solved. I do have a DVD.
