Try winamp in wine, or alsaplayer

I use winamp 2.73 and it works excellent with wine 1.1.14

I really like rhythmbox in ubuntu, but have had no success with it in puppy. However Amarok works a treat, and has similar feature set to rhythmbox. Have a look at this http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 59&t=41922

Yesterday i managed to install Lighthouse on the machine and added and amarok sfs from this forum. works like a charm, and amarok 1.4 also was quite a cool audio player... seems to run very fast also, but we'll see about this this evening ;)

another alternative i was thinking about would be doing foobar in wine... (foobar is still the best audio player around), but i had reservations about stability since i dont want to fiddle around on my pc durring a party if something crashes...

Foobar2000 1.0 beta 5 (http://www.foobar2000.org/) on wine 1.1.28 (http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=37783) is very, very stable and nice. aTunes 1.13.6 (http://www.atunes.org/) on java jre-6u17 (http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=27341) is also stable and a joy for every listeners eyes (http://imagesharing.com/storage/image.p ... 191072.png). aTunes is a full-featured audio player and organizer. It has support for huge playlist, with thousand of songs, and it has karaoke function.

I normally use foobar2000 or aTunes (and sometimes even aqualung) although I have tried amarok, songbird, winamp, vlc and snackamp in puppy.

I'll give foobar on wine a chance... Database searching in amarok seems awfully slow on that machine

How do you plan to help someone with a question from 2009 with a reply in 2014 about a version released in 2012? For a party tomorrow in 2009?

Oh, I get it, and now I see your point. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=94489

We often find more answers in Old post than in new one? first because of some applications were of some interest for the users at this time, when the were fashion, brand new..
The fine exit would be to resume answers in a topic specific to an application, rather starting from zero each time.
Why do i get old topics ? because i Think that my problem was studied before.
I use the search tool ascending, older posts first.
The rule is the same with a topic, newest messages are at the end.

So why the search tool is descending by default ? The descending is made for the HDQ to answer the new questions

OSMO ; because you speak about it : bugs should be solved in the next OSMO issue. They are known, they are registered.

I give the solutions to unanswered questions (answers found in Ubuntu forum) when they exist. Some unanswered posts are still here, because the problem is not solved. The the reason why administrators let them running, no ?

That was an information, not an answer.

That was an information, not an answer.
There are so many topics about VLC, because some Bugs.
A media-player would be forgotten because it has no bugs. That is my pleasure to list all 'jukeboxes' available for Puppy Linux. Then people will choose. That will not cause any trouble,
At school our teachers are all year long speaking of old threads.
That is called 'Culture.
