Can someone (with expertise in AJAX and HTML) modify the CUPS web interface into more modern look and user friendly?
I sent a request to the creator of CUPS but unfortunately he declined
Customized CUPS web interface
A fancy Cups will be bigger, which makes Puppy bigger. What is good about that?
Most of us use Cups only when a new printer needs to be activated. Most users have one or maybe two printers to relate to, and it takes many months between the Cups sessions. Those of us working in different locations, with several printers which aren't replaced every other week, can usually set up Cups once and forall, and more or less forget about it.
Those of us dragging a puppy on a disc or stick around to different locations may need Cups more often, but they are frequent Cups-users, and usually without the need for a fancy setup.
I often use Cups now, but I admit that it took some time to get used to it, mostly because I didn't use it vey often.
I respect your wish, but I don't agree.

True freedom is a live Puppy on a multisession CD/DVD.

but I don't think it is a good idea
making the web interface javascript dependant.
and CUPS is neither Puppy nor LInux software alone.
HTML is not needed, not at all.
What is a modern look?
Suggest you create your look yourself.
It is just simple css.
