Subject description: Running Fatdog 700 series Kodak Hero 3.1 printer

I tried to set up printing in Fatdog to a wifi Kodak Hero 3.1 printer using this as a guide http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?search_id=1501070373&t=73107

In my case though, Cups was able to find my wifi printer so I just ran with that. I downloaded and installed the driver from the other thread and tried printing the test page. The Cups reports a "Filter Error". The appicable part of the error log is below. Thanks for any guidance.

You are installing a 32bit driver in a 64bit OS.

Here is the 64bit version of the Kodak printer driver for Fatdog. It is untested.

Install it using the two-step, right-click procedure.

In CUPS, look for your model under Eastman Kodak Company.

Because of the other 32bit stuff you have installed, you may need a clean Fatdog setup to get this working.

I downloaded the pet twice; using it on two separate computers.

It looks like it worked. Cups reported that the job completed and the error file didn't seem to report any errors. I won't actually see the printed paper probably until Tuesday because I am not at the location. I remoted in.

Thanks for your help.

Proof is in the paper... Didn't bother with a test page on Sunday. I printed a document from Abiword and saw it today in the printer tray.

Another problem solved by rcrsn51.

Question about the other thread and the project that was abandoned...

Would the 64bitinstaller pet have made it possible for me to have gotten this printer set up without needing to ask for help? I looked at some FatDog printer pets and didn't see it there although I did see candi and maybe some others you had worked on.

No. You needed a 64bit version of the Kodak driver. I compiled it from source.

Thanks!

I'll have to learn how to do that.
