Manual frugal instal on HD partition on Thinkpad T61. First boot, okay, wireless, everything worked as expected. Created ext3 save file prior to shutdown, on reboot had a black screen, used forced shutdown.

Second reboot with savefile chose commandline option 'xwin', but black screen again. Tried again, used 'orgwizard' option, still no success.

Deleted save file, rebooted, black screen again, had to use another forced shutdown.

md5 checks out okay.

Pity, because it looked like a great puppy... I could be doing something wrong, often happens. :oops:

Just downloading again. I used it for a short while when I saw this puplet in another thread. My preferred DE is Mate, so I will give it another try now.

Thanks for that information. I accessed about:config and changed general.useragent.locale > en-US.

All is good.

Edit: I missed a setting - extensions.googletranslatorforff.targetlang - had to also change this to en

Works really nice & smooth on Acer Aspire One netbook @ 2X 1.6 GHz intel atom CPU with 1.5 GB ram (full install) with my 23 " flat screen made in Dresden Germany.(Medion).
Love the audio sampling in Caja when hovering over an audio file with the mouse cursor.
Guess I found my Mate ;-)
Everything: sound, wifi, video comes alive strait out of the box.

you can edit the /usr/bin/gtk-shutdown script and add like this example

Code: Select all

export TEXTDOMAIN=gtk-shutdown
export OUTPUT_CHARSET=UTF-8
RIGHT=254 DOWN=36 WIDTH=630 HEIGHT=90
export shutdown='
this is the new line
RIGHT=254 DOWN=36 WIDTH=630 HEIGHT=90
then at the end of the script add like this example

Code: Select all

gtkdialog3 --program=shutdown -G ${1-${WIDTH}x${HEIGHT}+${RIGHT}+${DOWN}} --gtk-module=gtk2desklet
now you will see the gtk-shutdown always in top

There is description to "always on top" . to jwm.
Need make group in the /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal file . Then use that group added to gtkdialog command .
