Four processors hardly making viewnior

#181 Post by hamoudoudou »

bigpup, even if 30% seems a lot for Puppy Linux, it should not freeze anything as it does.. 30% to 100% .
Four processors hardly making viewnior show a picture is very strange.. I wait for more users feed back. Tere is a process running badly, quite sure. Which one ? Eh eh, i don't know.. :? I am a poor passenger.
 Better would have to keep the kernel -50, IMO
Why did you change for -56 ?

LibLLVM :
verified well deleted by Mistfire X-Slim Slacko
It seems that Saintless did the same for making Debian Live-CD as light as a Puppy.

ubuntu 17.10 The Artful Aardvark replaces Zesty, Gnome will replace Unity. as default desktop.

rox window: cannot move columns

#185 Post by charlie6 »

Hi, :)

here running version 17.10.12

Wonder how to move rox windows columns?
That was possible just by pointing+left click pressed the header title and drag the column to desired location.
I cannot do it here.

Thanks for any advice?

Best regards, Charlie

Another check on 666ohilb's troublesome flac-file.
Open in MhWaveEdit - do nothing - save - works fine.
I have done this earlier with some corrupted/non-working mp3s

BUT, This won't fix the podcasts playing noise.
There is something not perfect in the ffmpeg flac decoding.

17.10.15 delta brings:

- Compton gui with thank to 666philb
- pplog perl components from 666philb
- torrent default = transmission-gtk (untested)
- .pnm default action set to defaultimageviewer

ffmpeg / flac issue - ffmpeg is a GCC-7 compile from LxPupSc - maybe it needs to be rebuilt using ZestyPup....latest ffmpeg version is 3.4 so might mean a version bump as well....

I've pet-built ffmpeg-3.4 in ZestyPup but it behaves exactly the same as the 3.3.2 version.....

i.e. 666philb's test file still produces random noise but if it is put through MHWAVEEDIT and saved it then plays as zigbert reports

If people can test the new version it is at:
http://smokey01.com/peebee/downloads/te ... uz1710.pet

It might as well go in the build now I've built it if it works OK? Also means that libschroedinger can be got rid of (I think).

Yes, indeed !
Have re-installed version 17.10.01 for verifying:
only on Zesty-17.10.01 row windows columns can be moved by mouses left click;
no longer on later versions, nor on version 17.10.14.

hi peebee,

i used petbuilds (slacko version) https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/p ... slacko_142 to make ffmpeg-2.8.11, and it's working for the test file. not tried with any streams though.

requires libfdk-aac1

ZestyPup - Beta build

#194 Post by Billtoo »

I applied the delta and did a manual frugal install to the hard drive,on first boot did basic setup and rebooted creating the save file,
changed kernels, rebooted and did more setup including installing the proprietary nvidia driver + adding applications with PPM.

I deleted the first iso right after downloading, just dragging the 5 files needed for grub4dos into a folder, so was kind of angry that these are all iso deltas. One day maybe I'll redownload the original iso again and apply the current delta so I can find more bugs so you'll have even more deltas to download  and you can too  lets contribute to more ongoing delta madness

Has anyone compiled an nvidia driver? shows me openCL not found, is that a flea? bug, or something from getnvidia, devx and kernel sources are loaded, thanks for your effort.

Not me, Sailor...I am a Peebee disciple now . Contrast his staying on top of his creations versus nearly all of us who throw something out there & never, lol, keep it updated. We are guilty. We have sinned. Heck, even with the major wpa-supplicant problem just a few days old, ole' Zesty was patched within 24 hrs of the patch coming out of Ubuntu. Who else does that (besides, of course, the ddogs that automatically do it with simple apt-get)? That's unheard of in puppyland. :D

So give me them thar deltas...I luv 'em....I want 'em....I need 'em ....I'm addicted to 'em......heck, sometimes wish I could apply a "delta" to my wife   .....or better, my darn knees & lower back.......give me Blade Runner DELTAS too....all deltas, keep 'em coming! 8)
