I've been looking for some time for a bones version that can run a decent web browser and that I can customize without having to remove 40 builtin packages

I have a problem with the Puppy Package Manager, it doesn't update repositories and the 'puppy-unicorn-official' is grayed and I can't remove it ,

Any clue or fix ? Thx.

so many no made me search for a Puppy unicorn ready for use, with a PPM providing some new stuff compared to classic puppies.
unicorNOPen does not provide gnumeric and abiword, added thanks to the japanese SFS (7MB)

To get a Puppy thin, there are librairies to withdraw, much bigger than these little applications known as default ones in Puppy since puppy 3,
Bluetooth 3D are useless because no applications exist yet, even in Ubuntu. It's the fat to trim.
When a Puppy is released to public, programming stuff should be withdrawn because a user will rarely use it, and user's home applications kept (uncompressed, all puppy user bins and sbins are no more than 10MBs).
Browse with gdmap or treesize your puppy, you will see where there is clever cuts to do. Printing stuff or scanning are less needed than a mediaplayer, unless you don't listen music
Imagine the scandale in your family when you remove seats to keep your repair tools in your car ! you can remove the wheels too, because the car is always on the repair deck !
It's just my opinion. Slacko 5.3.3, Racy 5.3 or Dpup exprimo are full featured for home users. Sure icons themes and backgrounds are not a lot... but we can add those that we like easily, as this unicorn background .

XFCE puplet from Hongrie is nice but PPM Utopic does not work well, i miss simplescreenrecorder and ffmpeg
Netsurf makes loose advantage of this very speedy Puppy, verifying sites .
Should I accept the certificate or not ? How could i know

Remasterized with QtWeb. Why ? I could have prefered Palemoon, or slimboat but not opera, and not Dillo, they make loose my time a lot asking certificate every second.
See the magyar versions of 666phlbert unicorn here. these european developers had always been great in cartoons. They are great in remastering puppies too. Nice job.

Just to say that Augras pet works too with unicorn, . PPM loads packages from archives Tested with Legopen, the blue Danube version of Unicorn

Unicorn 6.0 lets you take advantage of Unicorn packages. In fact i don't mind which puppy i use, which kernel, i only consider what apps i can run, really.
Qt libs are included, so you can play many diiferent apps than with Precise Puppies. Different, perhaps not better. But understand puppy passengers needs some new stuff

Unicorn is sized to fulfill a CD, by Csipesz...
I keep my version, much faster to load, on my pendrive. But for people still burning ISO, few minutes more for so many applications is not a silly idea.
It's appreciated that Puppy Hungary takes care of his kennel, updating versions, improving them by light pinches of salt (or pepper)

U Light version 49 will surf the web keeping Unicorn 6.0 as light as we could.
Goffice Q1 10MB loaded on the fly, not for daily office homework as LIbre Office, but for takings notes or a quick spreadsheet.

PPM based on Utopic can be updated, in spite of information here and there.

Hungarian Puppy Linux team has just released a new version of Unicorn sized to fulfill a CD (as they like to do)
