xenialpuppy64-7.5.x wl.pet u/s
downloaded Linux_firmware_module_wl-20120920 pet. it appears to have installed, but driver doesn't load. I did modprobe wl.ko and was told it didn't exist in /lib/modules/4.9.58 also a reboot. /etc/modprobe.d/wl.conf appears to block loading of my wl driver? B33 is not a suitable driver for this device.
How I wish that ALL internet connections had a base, slow connection that could ALWAYS be used to download something more suitable. Monitors have a base text mode for universal operation why don't internet connections have common base perameters which will allow some usage, rather than having to have 2 connections to get a new package working because it doesn't have suitable drivers for at least one. Getting very tired of this every time I update. I no longer have the brain to sort it myself, and yes, sometimes I wonder why I bother.
