Handbrake

handbrake: 170421

This is a modified wrapper for handbrakecli orignally written by forum member mikeb.

You should have the VLC media player installed since it uses the CSS library for some decoding.

It provides a simplified interface and only transcodes to .mp4 video & faac audio.
This works well for phone and tablet viewing or archiving of the DVD.

Handbrake may not be able to decode copy protected commercial DVD's

Source = DVD = This will rip and convert the chosen title to .mp4
If you have ripped a DVD to your hard drive with another tool, then:
Source = enter full path/VIDEO_TS = converts VIDEO_TS directory title to .mp4
If you only want to convert a single file then:
Source = enter full path/filename.ext = converts filename.ext to .mp4
(choose the directory, then type the file name at the end of the path).
If you only want to copy the .vob files without converting enter:
Source = RIP = rip full DVD title to single .vob file (add .vob to the output
file name)
RIP uses mplayer for this operation. You only need to enter the
Title & Output file name, all other boxes are ignored.

Note: RIP will sometimes be able to copy a disk that Source=DVD cannot. Once
you have the dvd ripped to a .vob file you can use handbrake again with
Source=enter full path/filename.ext to convert to a .mp4

Title- scan the dvd and pick the largest title, usually 1
Width- 480 is default, you can use larger or smaller (increments
of 16). This will increase or decrease the file size a little
Chapters- all is default
Codec Mode- choose the mode, you can control file size with this setting
Value- choose the value for the Mode
Audio Track- 1 is default
Subtitles- none is default
Output File- choose path location & name for the output file.
