How to open the command line in Wary 5.5?

#1 Post by Medulla »

Where do I find the command line? I run wary puppy 5.5. I am only a little familiar with WinXP, where I find "Run" in my Start-menu. What do i do in Wary?

Hello Medulla.

The command line is the line of command(s) you type in a terminal. The terminal is
oftern called the "command-line interface" on Linux.

You should have the icon of a terminal at the top left of your desktop. Something like the "Console48" image
attached. Click on it and a terminal -- or "command-line interface" -- will open.

Puppies sometimes include something like what you describe for WhineDose. There
exists a variety of those utilities: they may be called cdw or gexec (illustration attached)
or grun. (There may a couple out there whose name I do not know!)

As well, the pekwm window manager and some other window managers offer their own,
built-in, command-line utility. (Please see attached.)

IHTH.

Look for it under Utilities in the Menu.
Can you use the command line? Well, you should learn to anyway.
