pekwm-0.1.6 window manager

#1 Post by plinej »

This was compiled in Puppy 4 and may not work in other Puppies.

2008-01-22:
I updated the jwm2pekwm script a bit and revised the menu too. The menu item for refreshing the menu will run "fixmenus" so I would suggest adding these lines to the end of your /usr/sbin/fixmenus script:

Code: Select all

#support for fbpanel, lxpanel, openbox, fluxbox, pekwm...
[ `which tempicons` ] && tempicons
[ `which fbpanel_menu_refresh` ] && fbpanel_menu_refresh
[ `which lxpanel_menu_refresh` ] && lxpanel_menu_refresh
[ `which jwm2fluxbox` ] && jwm2fluxbox  ##current fluxbox_menu_refresh doesn't support menu icons while this does
[ `which obmenu-refresh` ] && obmenu-refresh
[ `which jwm2pekwm` ] && jwm2pekwm
After you install the dotpet at the command line type:

# fixmenus

Exit your window manager back to the prompt (ctrl-alt-backspace) and type:

# xwin pekwm

You will now be in pekwm. After installing programs You can select (under pekwm in the menu) the refresh menu command and then click Reload and the menu should be updated. Pekwm doesn't have a panel so you may want to use the fbpanel dotpet that I posted at:

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=25103

Or you could use the lxpanel dotpet that I posted at:

Hi everyone!

The download link for plinej's pekwm pet is broken.

Does anyone have it archived?

Actually, what I want is the 'jwm2pekwm' script.

A copy of the script can be found in an alternate location in the wayback machine if you can't find the original dotpet.

That via this post

As long as it was not modified.

Thanks very much for that!

I sat at my computer googling for hours, trying to find it, so your help is much appreciated!

Yes, I also sent a pm to musher0, and he replied that he has not kept a copy of that script, and he created his own menu generation scripts.
