#1 Post by delian87 »

I'm using puppylinux 7.5.
Since today i get this This Connection is Untrusted message on palemoon on almost every site, incl. FB, Gmail etc. My clock date and time zone are ok.
This also happens on Firefox
What should i do?

menu>Internet>Palemoon-updater
Run Update Palemoon

Any help after Palemoon updates?
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

Check the date on your machine.
You may also need to change the options for certificates.

I agree the time and date on the machine is probably wrong. mostly the year setting is incorrect in my experience with this problem

and update of palemoon is okay.

Check the date on your machine.
In situations like this, you should do a temporary clean boot with no save file/folder. Use the boot option "pfix=ram".

The time, date year are correct. The time zone is EEST, I am form Bulgaria.
Firefox and palemoon are updated.
The problem persists when I perform "clean boot with no save file/folder. Use the boot option "pfix=ram"."

Code: Select all

update-ca-certificates

I tried using Slax and chromium - same error. Should I be concerned about network safety? I am at work. No such error when using windows and firefox/ chrome/

You do not mention if you are using or connecting via some kind of proxy server. My main experience with this error is with a proxy server which uses an intermediate certificate which is not in the standard certificates that come with an OS or Browser and hence is not "Trusted". The cure in such a case is to import the certificate into the certificate authorities and then "Trust it". Other than that, with some sites I had that problem a year or so ago which resolved with an upgrade to openssl.

It is also worth while checking the error console, shortcut is ctrl+shift+j.

NB to check the certificate chain when on a site:

right click --> view page info --> security tab --> view certificate.
