Quote:
VYM (View Your Mind) is a tool to generate and manipulate maps which show your thoughts. Such maps can help you to improve your creativity and effectivity. You can use them for time management, to organize tasks, to get an overview over complex contexts, to sort your ideas etc.

Maps can be drawn by hand on paper or a flip chart and help to structure your thoughs. While a tree like structure like shown on this page can be drawn by hand or any drawing software vym offers much more features to work with such maps.

vym is not another drawing software, but a tool to store and modify information in an intuitive way. For example you can reorder parts of the map by pressing a key or add various information like a complete email by a simple mouse click.

I've uploaded a .pet to Erik's site here(1.4Mbytes) vym-1.12.2-i486.pet

Run via Menu->Utility->VYM

Edit Lobster's post, below, reminded me to mention that you need to install qt4-4.3.2.pet. Also, because this .pet is missing the libQt3Support.so.4, you need to install the attached libQt3Support.so.4 pet).

Many thanks Smile

Possibly you're missing a symlink. If you open a console, and enter vym, are any error messages generated? Also, which puppy version are you using?

Well, it came back with 'Comand not found'

I could see both the QT 3 & 4 in PETget, but not VYM, so I ignored teh 'already instaled' and told PETget to install it anyway.

A quick reboot of X and everything works now. I guess it must have been the installation sequence.

Puppy is 410-27 on an Acer Aspire

Thanks

Glad to hear you got it working. Plus, I had a look at the vym site & saw there was a 12.2.2 release, so will upload that sometime today.

I've uploaded v1.12.2 to Eric's site...see first post. I'm not sure what changes from v1.12.0, but this version includes a pdf manual.

Uhmm... I'm trying to download the .pet from the link in the first post (from the address puppylinux.ca/.../vym-1.12.2-i486.pet) and it's asking for a username and password to do the download.

Is something funny with how that site is set-up?

Oh... 'twas just that there was no mention of a username/password being required in any of the postings in this thread, so tha's why I thought something was funny...

..but tha's got things downloading happily, now...

Many thanks!

The vym .pet works for p431, if you also install libQt3Support.so.4.pet. Otherwise, I don't know which lyx .pet you're referring to?
