ttuuxxx,
too late already did it.
Got exactly the same stuffed result as previous time.

gposil,
After installing ttuuxxx's pet then your pet, it appeared to work, except that the first window has a problem with so many locales. It only shows the first few that can fit on one line.
But after choosing "en_AU", I ended up with same stuffed result as before.

I'll give ttuuxxx's latest download a go and report what happens.

(I really love Puppy frugal installs, delete one file and you've back to a clean install.)

Ya locales was a real pain in 2.14X, It took days to workout, until I tried series 4 and that worked, So now I have some idea how it all works and should make it easier the second time around :)

Sorry you had a crash by adding my suggestion, it should work if you have en_AU in your /usr/share/i18n/locales folder.

ttuuxxx,
Not sure where your latest locales pet puts them, but they didn't end up in /usr/lib/locale, so the locale chooser didn't find them.
But it's not critical at the moment.

gposil,
Since ttuuxxx's pet didn't result in any extra locale's to choose, I did something quite useless. I changed the locale from "en_US" to "en_US". And I ended up with the same stuffed dpup as per previous post. So it would appear that the problem is what the locale chooser does, rather than feeding it bogus locales.

ttuuxxx,
I'll extract the contents of your pet to see if I can see what it's doing. But it's a bit moot if the chooser isn't working.

thanks, but my latest testing seems to suggest that there is a problem with the locale chooser itself.

Ok I'm sorry but in 2.14X it was missing a lot of locales, so Its all starting to come back to me now :) The package you need I'm uploading its 19MB pet from debian, maybe later on it could be reduced of some locales but for now it the king of the hill.

gyro,

At the dpup download site in the latest 476d, you will find the files from above and a new chooselocale file use it and the glibc_i18n_en-2.5.pet.

http://www.gposil.com/test/woof-alpha9/ ... -2.6.27.4/

Fixed it here...hope it works there.

gposil,

"chooselocale" now works.

With a clean dpupsave.2fs, I installed only your latest "chooselocale".
Went to test it by changing "en_US" to "en_US", but after "Please wait, processing...", it went straight to the long list of radio buttons, so I chose "en_AU".
Restart of X seemed to go ok. Reboot went OK.
Started Abiword, (for first time) and the page was set to A4.
Checked in "/etc/profile" and "LANG=en_AU".

Done.

Hi Gposil

For the next day or so, I'll post what ever I can for dpup, feel free to use what you want to :)
here's the start, I looked at the mimes and well lately thats one of the first things I changed, The size of this mime package is about the same size as the default one, It has better looking mimes and much smaller in size, that way you get more mimes for the same size :), more is best lol. You can go straight to mime folder and replace 100% with these if you wish.
anyways enjoy :)

oh ya, this version of pet get has that really crappy feature, if you install a pet in located in /root it will automatically delete it when its done installing, Barry has already removed that feature in 4.22, maybe you could remove it from future versions also, Its already delete my devx.pet I make to compile live, lol

The compiler is still broken, autogen.sh doesn't work right. I now have it working but I'll post some updates for devx shortly :)
After I'm done getting things working, could it be possible to release a updated woof for dpup so I could build with it also. Since basically you'll have the most current error free version and that way I could build with it also :).

Here's the woof build for dpup...

http://www.gposil.com/test/woof-alpha9/ ... pup.tar.gz

You'll notice a few quirks, faac is not in lenny dist repo and neither are 2 others I think lidrm-intel and nouveau-1, I remove them from build list and install later, they are on the download site...

Cheers

Oh BTW by default i've set the Debian repos in Australia for obvious reasons...if there are debs you need that aren't in the repo, i'll have them.
