Zeven OS is an XUbuntu variations that is different to most Ubuntus
Some thing in the way the Developer set it up allow it to do frugal boot
of the live on grub4dos on NTFS using the iso which is required to be on
same /mnt/home seen from puppy using a manual drag and drop
You create a Dir anmed Zeven and then drag the casper dir over to that dir
and then the preseed dir and maybe boot but I am not sure if that is needed
but could be handy if it ahs languages you need. I only use the default
and change keyboard using setxkbmap se in the terminal and I accept
that the clock is .UTC/GMT and not CET plus daylight saving .
It allow that one look at the HD one booted it up on and play music
and so on. I can edit a HTML file and save it and the edit is really saved
not as in many other OS that it says it is not allowed.
I don't need to do any Su or Sudo or similar tricks.

Getting curious I also tested if Netrunner from 2012
couldd boot with that code and way to set it up and it did.
I am using netrunner now. It also allowed me to edit the HTMLfile
and save it and it did. So you need to change names and such.

Another good one to report; DescentOS, which is based on Ubuntu with the MATE desktop / window manager. It's up to version 4 now but I installed version 3 instead and the upgrades from that work just fine.

I downloaded the 64bit iso,burned it to dvd and installed it to the
hard drive.
It's working fine so far, I've been installing programs with pacman
and it's working nicely.

Today I installed Trisquel 6.0 toutatis
I find it faster than a previous version I've been using with good results. This new version looks promising.
When I started using trisquel was because it's part of the free software foundation software, though I used puppy more times because I found puppy simply better in more than one aspect.

I installed Linux-Mint 15 Olivia RC to the hard drive on my Acer
Desktop pc.
I installed quite a few applications with synaptic.
It's working great, no problems so far.

Just download a bunch of KDE packages from the Kubuntu repo, do a bit of minor trial and error testing and tweaking, unsquash the main sfs, add the Kubuntu packages (with tweaks) and then resquash the sfs and rebuild the iso.
Put this together quite a while ago while Lucid was still going strong.Not going to go through thoset long threads to find my posts though.
There was a Spanish version of Lucid/KDE posted here on the forum earlier and I seem to remember Battleshooter had a KDE 4 sfs posted too.Didn't try either but they were available.
For what it's worth, we had Slacko running KDE4 too...... long,long ago in a galaxy far,far away.

I downloaded and installed the 64bit Gnome 3 version Mageia 3.
The package manager works well, lots of applications available too.
This pc now has Win7,Mint 14 Nadia(kde),Mint 15 Olivia(Cinnamon),and
Mageia 3 installed on it + Precise Puppy (which boots from an SDHC
card),plenty of choices.

yes, and I think it should be an advertence for us to be cautious when initiating a developement, because it is necessary to be sure as possible that we know other similar previous works, to not be doing twice the same effort.
I can't imagine the bothering it must be when finishing a work, finding someone else already published something similar on the net.
That's why I appreciate the work of the Free Software Foundation. Because before they said -what system do we want?- they did other question, which is, -when we create software, for what kind of people is it going to be developed?/ I believe that simplified their search.

Ah so it is a version of Saluki Carolina then. I dl the big
final some 400MB but have not tested it yet I wanted to know
why I don't remember we had a big thread about it's development first
Wonder why they took that route then?
Good that you explained to me how it can to be.
Maybe their FAQ tells more but I usually fail to read FAQ
them give me headache so much to take in.
