Just download a bunch of KDE packages from the Kubuntu repo, do a bit of minor trial and error testing and tweaking, unsquash the main sfs, add the Kubuntu packages (with tweaks) and then resquash the sfs and rebuild the iso.

Put this together quite a while ago while Lucid was still going strong. Not going to go through thoset long threads to find my posts though.

There was a Spanish version of Lucid/KDE posted here on the forum earlier and I seem to remember Battleshooter had a KDE 4 sfs posted too.Didn't try either but they were available.

For what it's worth, we had Slacko running KDE4 too...... long, long ago in a galaxy far,far away.

I downloaded and installed the 64bit Gnome 3 version Mageia 3.
The package manager works well, lots of applications available too.
This pc now has Win7,Mint 14 Nadia(kde),Mint 15 Olivia(Cinnamon),and
Mageia 3 installed on it + Precise Puppy (which boots from an SDHC
card),plenty of choices. :)

Interesting project that if done with puppylinux would be half the size and twice as fast.
yes, and I think it should be an advertence for us to be cautious when initiating a developement, because it is necessary to be sure as possible that we know other similar previous works, to not be doing twice the same effort.
I can't imagine the bothering it must be when finishing a work, finding someone else already published something similar on the net.
That's why I appreciate the work of the Free Software Foundation. Because before they said -what system do we want?- they did other question, which is, -when we create software, for what kind of people is it going to be developed?/ I believe that simplified their search.

I am extremely bad at using even the link in my signature.
Where do we have the thread on this Puppy?

Simplicity http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distri ... simplicity
Simplicity Linux is a Puppy Linux derivative with Xfce as the default desktop environment. It comes in three editions: Netbook, Desktop and Media. The Netbook edition features cloud-based software, the Desktop flavour offers a collection of general-purpose software, and the Media variant is designed to provide "lounge" PC users with easy access to their media.
i found a thread way back in 2009 but then lost it again.
Any mirrors to that iso on site they link to?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/simplicitylinux/files/

What is the pro et cons for it as a puppy?

Type the words "simplicity" and "linux" in Google Search.

Press "enter".

Nope none of the first ten answers where to murga-linux.com
they went to the simplicitylinux.org/‎ YouTube sourceforge.net
www.facebook.com/.../Simplicity-Linux/5887073
www.simplicitycomputers.co.uk/faq/
bjoernvold.com › Board index › Linux › Distro talk‎
distrowatch.com/simplicity
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/The_Arch_Way‎

so can you show a screen pic of your google search then. :)

If you already found the link to simplicity on murga-linux
then why not share it instead of giving me an advice that failed ?
Friendly smile sent your way.

By downloading:

Simplicity <= Carolina <= Saluki <= Racy

Kernel is 3.2.13

Not very nice not to acknowledge their sources other than "Puppy Linux and derivatives"

Ah so it is a version of Saluki Carolina then. I dl the big
final some 400MB but have not tested it yet I wanted to know
why I don't remember we had a big thread about it's development first :)

Wonder why they took that route then?

Good that you explained to me how it can to be.
Maybe their FAQ tells more but I usually fail to read FAQ
them give me headache so much to take in.

One last comment: We won't enter into any correspondence regarding listing of distributions on DistroWatch. Over the years we have received too many angry and abusive emails from distro developers to engage in any such conversation. If you don't have the budget to buy advertising (and don't have enough satisfied users who would donate funds), your only other course of action is patience.
I understand their position.

I want the link to the thread here on simplicity Puppy not a youtube thing about local things in Sweden. I mean how is Simplicity related to Sweden at all?

And I did send you a friendly smile. So screams in the night seems not appropriate as a friendly smile back at me :)

distrowatch.com wrote:If all this sounds depressing, there is some good news for those developers who absolutely and desperately want to have their distribution listed on DistroWatch today. All you need to do is to buy an advertising banner and your distro will be listed straight away. Additionally, your banner will attract extra visitors to your website. Currently the smallest advertising deal available is 100,000 impressions of a standard leaderboard (728x90 pixels), which costs US$200
FUCK YOU DISTROWATCH!!!
I sure understand your feelings. Should we join Crowd Sourcing then+
They seems to be good at getting supporters for many kind of projects.
200 persons sending one dollar each and the goal is reached.

Another solution would be to set up a Facebook page that lists all Linux distros and every Developer can link from that one to their own FB page or site? Would they get charged by FB? I know too little about FB but I trust Puppy maybe have a page there or ??? so based on what happens there maybe you can somehow make similar pages.

What goal is meant here? Endorsement of the F-word on a public forum?

Wash out his mouth with soap and a good spanking - yes.
Giving him someones' hard-earned dollars to entice further misbehavior - no.

Nope, maybe "Farkle you DistroWatch" may have been more appropriate for guys like
anikin.

But then, we do get some sculag stupa shebs on the forum from time to time.

I installed linuxmint-15-mate 64bit version to an external usb 3.0 hard
drive on my hp desktop pc.
I installed applications using the software manager,apt-get,and
synaptic so there are plenty of options for that job.
Also have ubuntu 13.04 gnome edition installed on the external hard
drive + win7 on the main hard drive + can boot puppy precise 5.6.1
from a SDHC card plugged into a usb card reader.
I've only been trying out mint 15 mate for an hour or so but it is
working well so far.

EDIT: Still testing, tying out the razorqt desktop.
