There may be a valuable cross-purpose between this old thread and another older one:

.wvx stream recording
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 320#392320

Our son needs to be able to follow the .wvx pointer and play the associated video without having to downgrade to anything-MS. His laptop has Puppy 4.31 installed.

We don't need to record but do need to be able to view - right now I can paste URL into Pstreamvid 1.3 which then opens a gxine window but all we get is the audio. What are we doing wrong, please?

He needs this for an online college course that started today.

Edoc,

I think you need mplayer and use it in pstreamvid. I dunno if there's a way to make gxine plays more extensions.

Where is the best source for mplayer?

I have used it in the past, earlier in it's life when it was really buggy, but I know that it has come a long ways.

Hey Edoc;

I was able to get audio and video of that Liberty U. perversion
of psychology by using Ttuuxxxs' VLC 8.6 lite.
Have mms. streams enabled.

Naughty! ;-)

I know, it's "inside baseball" for Christians when described the way that he does, no one there expects anyone outside of the community to see it their way. And it is not necessary that they do.

I appreciate the reference and will chase that down and give it a try.

Thanks again!
