Thanks for that Mike, think I'll stick with my own customised version though.

No problem...well it is of a custom job for me also...made it match what I had with slax really. Plus carried over all those save options that I made in 2.12.

The lucid is more like lucid but with tweaks and goodies.

412 was my first puppy. I had a customized version of 412 I called nicOS. It was stripped down to 59MB and ran like a greyhound. Where can I download 8192CU driver? I would like to take 412 for another spin.

Hello Nic007,

Here is the driver from darry1966's 412/421 forever site:

Thanks all. Didn't actually need the driver. Scanning for available networks needed a few tries before I got things going. The Seamonkey browser that came with 412 is ancient.

The browser browse better than elinks or Dillo.

The browser browse better than elinks or Dillo. Sure to be fast, Puppy 4.12 will never be as full featured as Dpup Exprimo 5x 3.6.2.1, but Puppy was for giving the most it could, paying attention to be able to run in RAM.
Going outside and listen music in your garden (or computing) gives it a second youth.

Ally, i use 8192CU shown in your message. It's the more common. But driver depends on the dongle you bought.
Newest Puppies on old computer (laptops) are never a clever choice.. Like a Turbo reactor on old airplane something wrong will happen :)
That is a detail, discover again our old Puppies on Websites dedicated is a nice idea. here in the forum we are zapping between versions, i wonder if somebody has time to use them..
N'oubliez pas les Toutous, french remakes with a little touch of haute couture.

I will check, Toutou 4.12 is multibooted.. Five minutes of waiting.
A delay is asked, my Toutou 4.12 is not on this pendrive .
medor wrote translation : on old computer , to be able to access internet, only old puppies can do it, newer are to big. Medor uses 2.17 version. I use 4.12, with a dongle, with the Seamonkey dated 2009.
this video is done with a Puppy 4.1.2 XVidcap, gxine, and avidemux used.. and Homebank.

I didn't check as my lingering back to 412 didn't last very long. Much better playing with Racy for retro purposes (and the Seamonkey browser in Racy is still very usable). I'm using either Tahr or Precise Retro on daily basis depending whether I want to use Palemoon and VLC (which is standard with Tahr) or not.

Seamonkey 1.1.11 default bowser in Toutou Linux 4.1.2

Seamonkey 1.1.11 is the browser in Toutou 4.1.2 (puppy remasterised). I let it as default. I took a glance at browsers available in 4.1.2 website. I alrealdy hold them in my tool case, if ever Seamonkey would be not enough to surf on the Web.

Just a tiny detail: Why not rename "Operating Systems" as "DOWNLOAD PUPPY!"? Because I spent looong seconds, purposefully searching for a download link to get (this so famed) Puppy Linux... and nothing. Just for chance I try "Operating Systems" and there it was!

And a bigger size of font in the web page would be welcome too
