Was it because you felt people expected too much of you, or because of their attitude?

remind anyone who demands something that you is volunteer here, any work is the result of good will.

if people want a feature they need to do it themselves, or offer something worthwhile in return

thanks for all your hard work any how

Thanks to everybody sharing their views.
RSH, many love you here so let it take the time
you need to feel better and think about all
the joy that comes from sharing with friends.

This confirms my take on the PUG that if one
put too much demands on Devs they can get
tired of the whole thing. I know this from my own
bad effect on many of the current Devs. I where
too much at them all the time. So good that
so many of you support a friendly Puppy forum.
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Dear RSH,

can I second stu90's, SFR's and nooby's sentiments and TLM's move to preserve your fabulous efforts: please take some time to reconsider your position to a minority element and don't cut yourself off from us silent majority. Please stick around. As Aitch frequently notes, Developers are a rare breed and the loss of your enthusiasm and expertise will not only detract from all the hard work and passion you've put into your pupplet, but also impact those of us noobs running into problems with our own projects. May LazYrus rise again,

With Warmest Regards

Sorry to see you go, I feel bad, I just joined and am eager to start learning and in time would like to build my own Puppy.

I am sure this can be settled, your work speaks for itself.

Stick around :!: :!: :!:

Hello to all and thank you very much for your (mostly) kind words.

i do need a few days to finish my actual work and then i will reply to all this posts (there is surely something to say about)

Just one Information:

All files at mediafire are still available. So every user who did download LazY Puppy is still able to download all the sfs files of LazY Puppy. These links are implemented in the QuickInstall (icon on desktop).

For those users with the new iso (downloaded at smokey01.com) i will set the links to my mediafire directories at first post.

" I am tired of the bad attitudes here as well. "

""""""""""""

A lot of people round here could do with a humour transplant.

While you are all crying like girls let us remember a
little token Puppy History.

Barry Kauler started with nothing.

370 kms from Perth in virtually a desert.

A one man band who developed this from scratch.

How many times would he have wanted to throw the towel in?

Hard!!! You little fretters wouldn't know hard if it kicked you.

No money...shitty dialup....the Puppy name was hated.

Driving to Perth a couple of times a month to upload.

Not much help...just himself...and then the significance of what
he was doing started to bring in some helpers....believers....
slowly a team of greats like >> mu etc.
The early Puppy heroes.

Not ingrates who delete files and posts.
I would doubt that you would ever see a terse post from mu.

IT'S Called >>> Perserverence.

Today being Australia Day I salute you >>> Barry.

You are a genius....a great Aussie...
unassuming, tolerant, hard working...doing it for your own pleasure.
But mate you are a wonderful bloke.

And it still all works..........GREATttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

BK had one hissy fit.....tired out.

Fair enough....and he took a break.

Get it.... >>>>>>>>> take a break.

Don't hit the delete button Pissants.

Enjoy the other Linux sloth....good luck.

And hey! but if you want to go back to Windows type up

eXperience..and maybe win somewhere in the search.

I won't post links.

He made Micro XP....99 mbs installed.

And Win 7 that's about 2 gigs minus the pagefile.
Just over 700 mbs for the setup files.

Not Puppy....but the bloke MS should have employed.

Instead of delighting us with Vista.

See yas .............Chris.

I guess I lack humor. I rather have ten crying girls than
one male Bully that roar like a Lion or bark like a Wolf.

WE ARE NOT BARRY KAULER'S - especially not me! :)

Maybe Barry is a SUPERMAN (like you suggest) - not me! :)

I AM A SENSITIVE HUMAN BEING THAT CAN BE HURT!

I AM A SENSITIVE ARTIST THAT CAN BE HURT!

I AM A SENSITIVE DRUMMER THAT CAN BE HURT!!

I AM A SENSITIVE MUSICIAN THAT CAN BE HURT!!

I AM A SENSITIVE COMPOSER THAT CAN BE HURT!!

I AM A SENSITIVE PHOTOGRAPHER THAT CAN BE HURT!!

I AM A SENSITIVE PROGRAMMER THAT CAN BE HURT!!

Do 50% of what i am doing in 50% of my quality - then you can call me (look at the quote)

But you can't!

I did watch this - and do you know what?

We got those AXXXXXX-Guys on german television as well.

Guys like "Uncle Ronnie" can't touch me. Even you can not touch me.

Sending "Uncle Ronnie's" stuff around the world and up to the Universe makes one thing absolutely clear to all Lifeforms in outer space:

THERE SEEMS TO BE ABSOLUTELY NO INTELLIGENT LIFE ON EARTH!

But there is intelligent life on earth - unfortunately it is shouted down by guys like you and "Uncle Ronnie". This has been so for decades and century's and seems not really to change!

I would rather made suicide than naming this one guy an uncle to me!

Here is a Message to you, all the other "you's" and "Uncle Ronnie's" in the World from "Uncle Frank": is there anything good inside of you? If there is, i really want to know ... really want to know.

It must be a strange kind of fun to guys like you and "Uncle Ronnie" to trample and hit others, as they are already lying on the ground.

It seems to be a MASTER ATTITUDE of human being in the 21st century.

Guys like you and especially "Uncle Ronnie" should be banned - not from the forum, not from earth - FROM UNIVERSE!!! :D    :D
And if one would call me to do so, i would do it with a smile on my face. Because it would be surely the human solution at all to mankind! :D :D :D

By the way: i got an emergency clue to "Uncle Ronnie": PLEASE LEARN TO SPEAK CLEARLY - it will give to you a sparely touch of HUMAN BEING (this clue in the case of writing is also for you, cthisbear))

And now- cthisbear: PLEASE, KEEP OFF OF THIS THREAD!

Why? I am a supporter of free speech and acting but not of free insult!

That's why!

I do totally agree! :D

Thank you

No other Linux forum would tolerate abuse of developers the way this one does. There's something seriously sick and wrong with this place, and it comes from the top. (Talking to you, Murga.)

People who do nothing and achieve nothing sit back with their keyboards and slander good creative people who work for the benefit of the community. Useless mooches with hate in their hearts and nothing better to do than criticize and act like jerks, tolerated and sometimes even encouraged by the forum admins.

No doubt this post will bring out the usual ham-fisted hypocrisy, censorship, and arbitrary punishments.

I find this forum too be generally more friendly than almost any other...
I personally don't mind a bit of 'colour' in a conversation, but keep it polite on here, as most users here are very polite indeed.

I'm still learning to 'tell it like it is', in the nicest possible way ;)
(not that I know much!)

To prove how nice these forums are, you only need to look back at the crap I was releasing/bungling when I first joined this forum...

My 1st, crap ISO puplet offerings, were still tested by many, as a token welcome/politeness (they were definitely not worth testing) but I still got lots of suggestions, which were gently made to me, telling me how I could improve my crappy offerings...

I think it's still that way for me ;) lol

Try looking around some of the Slackware and Arch forums to see how innocent beginners asking questions or sharing ideas are ridiculed and ignored.. They'd have ripped me to pieces on those forums and sent me back to Windows!

As for as 'being a developer' goes, in general, I tend to take the attitude (and this is a very British attitude) that if I make/develop/release something, I should expect people not to care, or to think it's crap.. Then any feedback I get is potential help. I must know I am not 'right' or 'better' and that everything people bother to tell me is worth listening to, even if I don't like it.

In other words, I don't expect anyone at all to like what I do, and I know at least some people will think it's totally pointless, or even a bad idea.. That's fine, not ideal, but fine. So don't get down, keep doing what you're doing, if that's what you want to do!

Most important RSH, you make what you want,
make whatever makes you happy.

Agreed. Feel free to ignore all critics. This isn't a charity. If it's not fun, it's not worth it.

Thanks sc0ttman and jemimah for your balance here. We could almost set a metronome to the disputes that periodically occur on the Puppy Linux forum. I think it goes to show that a dynamic, creative COMMUNITY takes all types of perspectives. I'm just not sure that a "tough love" approach is always the best way to respond to differences in perspective. I note, for example only, that there are many on this forum with Asperger's - brilliant and driven with certain forms of analysis and problem solving, not-so-brilliant with social interactions - where what is intended to be communicated (sent or received) can be misinterpreted, to the hurt of all. Now add to this mix differences in cultural and language backgrounds...
But vive la différence: who wants to be a monoculture like MicroSoft or iFad? RSH - never believe that you are a disposable commodity. sc0ttman, jemimah, even MU and BK all know that the frontier is a lonely place. I think that on re-reading the thread, we are all backing you, just in different ways. Hang in there, and hold to your dream and wherever the fun takes you :)

Hello.

I did not think, my action could have result in all the reactions i have got - not only inside this thread but especially the pm's that mostly said: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK or similar.

I do need a break (i think two weeks will do it well) and i will continue my work on LazY Puppy.

Therefor i do change the subject of the first post from "closed" to "paused".

Thanks to all my supporters and all good willing people inside this forum!

Enjoy your break ;) I hope you come back ready to do good things.

BTW, something I've never figured out... what audience is LazY Puppy supposed to appeal to? I presume that "Lazarus Yet in Puppy" refers to something religious...?

This makes me smile! :)

No, nothing religious.

Please take a look at these two threads. It's a lot stuff but will inform you well . This has been the main idea to LazY Puppy. It was hard work and at least panoss found a way to get the whole thing runnning.

Lazarus is a free rapid application development tool similar to Delphi. See wiki here:
http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Over ... nd_Lazarus
It has that name "Lazarus" because of a dead project being rising from dead again:)
