Release Candidate 1 will have Clear "Glass Icons", Blue Paw Background, Seamonkey 1.08 (compatibility with past and future Puppys and small size), Offline web page, all available fixes, Pfind 1.0 etc.
We are now moving towards feature set and reliability testing

Notwithstanding that, I've been working away creating a "masterpiece" as shown below, this Monday afternoon in Oz.
WhoDo I've followed those earlier instructions and attach here two compressed jpg's of desktops reduced to 800wide. Full sized images in uncompressed pngs are linked.
I've created iconised desktop buttons as described between the two images.

I changed icons on existing desktop starts for my preference...
"Documents" to home48.png - on Standard version
"Documents" to home.png - on Office version
"Media" to multimedia48.png - familiarity and the one in the beta didn't mean anything to me
"Media" to multimedia.png - used this as an alternative on the Office Version.
"Internet" to seamonkey.png - cos we are assured it will be in the final release
I renamed "Configuration" to "Configure" to shorten it to align correctly
"Network" >>> (/usr/local/bin/LinNeighborhood)
/usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps/network.png - used on Office Version
/usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps/samba2.png - would be my personal choice, used on Standard
"ScreenCap" >>> (mtpaintsnapshot.sh)
/usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps/camera.png
"Gaim" >>> (/usr/sbin/gaimshell)
/usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps/gaim32.png
"ShutDown" >>> (/usr/X11R7/bin/wmpoweroff)
/usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps/shutdown.png
I should look for reboot icon as well, and will check what SuSE uses; I think shutdown is red anyway.
"Find File" >>> (/usr/local/bin/pfind)
/usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps/find24xpm (needs larger plus png)
Background on the Standard (above) is adapted from one of the Linspire v5 release competition entries.
Background on the Office (below) is adapted from the current default for PC-BSD.
You can also see the short-cut to start
simpress in the Office Version. The application isn't in the Standard Version. All the starts work in both ice-wm and jwm, as you would expect. The Power Off one was just a momentary inspiration
I think it would be a disservice to users of the Standard product to not supply a working PowerPoint type application; the downloadable add-on hasn't worked since I came on board with v 2.02 beta.
Indeed, the utility which shows pie charts of mounted partitions has never registered correctly with the top of the taskbar either (since I've been around), note where it is located on the image below. I think that should be fixed if it is part of the distributions (both of them).
