Hi dejan,

This is a really nice puppy :D :D The media player work real nice, the look and feel of this is just awesome to use. I nstalled my gtkdialog .pet that I compiled in lupu 525 and it works, So I installed Manna Bible Software and it opens.

The MannaUpdater don't and that is because it needs yad for it to work, but I can fix that.

I had no problem connecting to the internet. I did a manual frugal install to my Dell D430.

AWESOME piece of work,

Thanks

Hello Everyone Again,

I have updated the debian repo to the archive site.

If there is a problem with any files that will not download you might be able to get them here http://archive.debian.org/debian/pool/main/

When you open the ppm you will only get this site to choose from when you download from debian_main click on the bottom one for some reason this works better.

extract the tar.gz and put the Distro_pkga_specs in root .packages this is a hidden folder .packages that is where it needs to go. Play it safe though and copy the old file first. The file in the tar.gz does work am using it.

Not all things work, just try and see, some libs you may not find even when doing a web search. So good luck.

I did download AUDACIOUS-1.5.1 with all dependencies and it works with no problems.

Ally - thanks for the work you do with saving/mirroring so many different versions of Puppy. It is a little sad that so many good versions get forgotten or put on the backburner. Dpup 485 is a good example of pups that are a great fit for specific hardware but drop off the horizon.

Sometimes the newest is not always the best I reckon...

hey geek

thanks....

I started the collection as I had to 'rescue' some files from the waybackmachine and thought it sad that the efforts of the community were lost to the ether

the works are taking a lot longer than expected due to a 300kbps upload speed but am nearly at the half way point (~250gb so far)

I would encourage the community to have a browse about and download occasionally, this will help keep the collection alive (I am hoping for a permanent collection but the terms and conditions say they can delete at will so I presume items not 'used' will go)

also please advise if corrections/additions to pages are needed

:)

Hey everyone, I'm working on updating dpup 485, should have some isos ready for testing in the next few days if there's interest.
I updated glibc to 2.15, we already have latest gtk2, I updated office apps too and added some fixes suggested in this thread.

Kernel and Xorg will stay the same version, there are newer dpups with more recent kernels, pemasu is doing great work with those but I stick with this and only update crucial libs for more compatibility with newer apps/repos since it works best with my pc and I believe there are more specific hardware that some of you use that this is best version to use.
Consider this a "legacy dpup" :)

oldyeller, you fixed lenny repos but this puppy will be more compatible with squeeze/wheezy can you figure out how to add those to ppm?
And does anyone know if there's a pet for latest package manager or is this only available in puppy skeleton in woof?

dpup 485 was already 171MB and with new libs and changes it will be around 200MB!

If any devs are interested in helping further development you can jump onboard when I post new iso.
