TO DO:
Seamonkey-play sound

Hi Shinobar.
Back again.
So far so good. Thanks for your hard work.
Probably has nothing to do with Wary-502q,but i can't set Seamonkey to play sound when a download is finished.
In Lupq-511 i could do that and get used with it .
It's not something so important and probably i am doing something wrong.
Greetings !!!

I am using wary-502q-k2.6.32.28.iso
I am able to record and play sound nicely.
Here are some comments:
pschedule should be in the menu
Why did you include ptiming? Shouldn't you have included pclock
by zigbert instead.

Maximum resolution I was offered when first booting up was 800x600
which is barely usable .
I choose English country and English keyboard layout....
but I still had the old problem of the underscore character ( _ ) being
printed on the screen by an equal ( = )
When I switched to French then the proper keyboard layout resulted.

All the download links in the top post (

Is there a trick that I miss or is just (hopefully temporarily) out?

Bonjour shinobar !
thanks again for those new wary's !
have got a try on both kernel wary-502q:
Till now 502q-k2.6.31.14 runs nice with fr_be@euro locale + lang-pack-fr.0.4-w5.pet (tested on a HP pIV 2.8GHz dual core; and a Fuji-Siemens PIV 2.5GHz)
But using 502q-k2.6.32.28 on a HP pIV 2.8GHz dual core I could not get remastering: there is no dialog box asking which optical drives the live-cd is inserted. Instead there is a dialog box telling that "no cd/dvd" can be found... and the remaster program ends up.
Now only on Fuji-Siemens PIV 2.5GHz with "Intel Corporation" Board "82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device"
I could start from live-cd till the locale setup. Upon X server restarting, the display kept being black, even after doing Ctrl-backspace to restart X server .
Seems strange as till now much puppies from 3 series run nice on this Fuji-Siemens.
Cheers
Charlie

Je suis désolé.
Maybe missing the update of /sbin/probedisk2.

Applications to be removed or add

Plan of the Wary-503q.
- Remove(from Wary-511): didiwiki, gcolor2, gdmap, gfnrename, pbackup, pmetatagger, pstopwatch, ptimer, puppy-podcast-grabber, seamonkey_addon_sqlite_manager, sgtt, pupscan.
- Move to extra menu: ptiming, peasyscan, nicoedit, pedit, secure-ssh, e3_utf8, superscan, wakepup2, xclipboard, xconsole, chooselocale, set-hwclock-type
- New: pclock(with pschedule on the main manu)
And now, i am considering the Pctorrent to be replaced with
Transmission, or simply remove.
As for the updating gparted, i would like to postpone because we are going to finalize the Quickset wary soon.

here are some more infos:
when setting Xorgwizard to get 1024x768x16 with 'intel' X driver (that's the driver which nice drives the 82845G/GL graphic card on other puppies), Xorgwizars tells 'OK for video, OK for card'; aftrwds 'test' does not display anything = black screen; doing ctrl-backspace returns to command line; doing 'xwin' and then I hear the '2 barks' but with a keeping black display.
I tried i810 and i740 drivers without success.
I tried to come back to vesa, but here also got a black screen.
Thanks for your time
Cheers,
Charlie
ps: 1)... never got that since I joined puppy; on this very same PC I tried the wary-511 with k2.6.32.28 without problem.
2) on my HP PIV 2.8GHz with nvidia card, I got a try to change the X driver: intel or i810: in all tests, xorg keeps automatically setting on the 'nv' driver - does not take accout of the manual settings...?!
Quickset Wary-502q (multilingual)

Hi shinobar,
please don't forget:
let seamonkey start localized (was in m09)
CUPS localized (was in m09)
gtklp_NLS is in repo puppy-wary5
menu entry for gtklp would be nice to have.
Can you add gtklp.mo to all existing lang_packs or should it be done by every language maintainer?

Yes, I know, if there was one of

3- or localized HOMEPAGE for PuppyPDF (see my suggestion
HOMESITE localized)
4- or HOMEPAGE for PuppyPDF
that would not have been happened. ( 1- or 3- is our goal

Bonjour shinobar !
This is not that so urgent to be fixed ....
Got a try with linuxwacom-0.8.8-10-k2.6.32.28-w5.pet on wary-511-k.2.6.32.28 and the following comment:

I am using wary-502q-k2.6.32.28.iso in French. It works well but....
I've discovered the following
1) Pschedule has a French localization but it is not included in ISO.
2) The Figaros Password Manager (fpm2) has a French .MO file
but it is not in ISO. I grabbed it out of a debian package.
3) Why not use Xarchiver rather than Xarchive since it has translations
in many languages.?
4) Why hasn't the screenshot program been localized?

Bonjour shinobar,
thankX again for this 503q !
context: booting in pfix-ram from 503q-k.2.6.32.28-live-cd (md5sum OK) on the above-already-described-Fuji-Siemens PC - this usually runs with intel Xorg driver.
problem: Again same as in the above post:
1) the locale setup is displayed as usually (vesa mode?);
2) whatever having completed or not the locale setup, clicking on Xorgwizard ...waiting a long long time...display keeps being black ...
3) doing ctrl-backspace ... then got the command-line prompt
4) if now entering xwin, again get a black screen BUT! get the "woof-woof"'s 2barks.wav on the pc speaker.
5) if again doing ctrl-backspace ... then again get the command-line prompt ...choosing Xorg ... test...choice on 1024x768x16 (as usual on that PC) ... Xorg tells "OK for video, OK for card"...then black screen and again waiting...black screen forever...!
7) here doing ctrl-backspace ... then again get the command-line prompt, here doing xwin, again get a black screen and again get the "woof-woof"'s 2barks.wav on the pc speaker.
Thus, all seems going as usual except that there is NOT ANY video !
On this PC+puppy the video is usually driven by the intel driver.
..have tested this on two identical Fuji pc's..!
now something really crazy ! =-)) : this happened... just by accident...!
1) again live-cd bootup etc...
2) I ONLY selected the 3rd locale field (=keyboard locale) i.e. "be-latin1"; 1st field left unmodified.
3) click OK to run next Xorgwizard setup ...choice on Xorg; then resolution 1024x768x16 - "OK for video;OK for card" ; then choice on "test" .... AND HERE GOT the grey display « blablibla... if you are getting this...Xorg is running...blablibla...do ctrl-backspace » ; so I ctrl-backspaced and got ... a correct display
! Now the locale setting got displayed automatically, here I could setup the 1st locale field to "Français", validate; got the extra locale setup to "be-@euro"; and all now seems to be OK (this post edited using 503q-k.2.6.32.28...!)
conclusion: So the locale setup works here if done in two steps; if 1st and 3rd locale-setup-fields are set in one step then I get a black screen...!
Any idea about this?!?
Thanks anyway in advance for your time.
Cheers from Belgium !
Charlie
