I found a really nice site for Icewm themes and other eye candy. http://box-look.org/. Never came across it before but I'm been very pleased with it and impressed by the icewm themes they have available. I've been packaging a few I really like and I'll try and post them here. Of course, feel free to go ahead and download the tars yourself if you'd like :)

Today's one is Icewm-dust:

Edit: A few posts down is a stripped down version of this pet done by Ttuuxxx. Thanks man.

I had a look at it, I'm not running icewm right now, but I did notice it came with its own fonts and a very large file sized desktop background.
I deleted the extra fonts, changed the default theme to use puppy fonts, and compressed the background image. So the end results went from a 2.4MB pet to a 120kb pet.

Updated had a second look and found another extra image,
made some system links, removed some icons and replaced with just a couple and 120kb pet :)
enjoy ttuuxxx

and finally if you mix the taskbar only with my small themes and make it gtk so you have animated buttons, you get something like this :)
It went from 2400kb pet to 23kb pet, 100 times smaller. :)

and here's a update of your icewm-dust theme, I made the taskbar better looking because the button was too large and was stretching the taskbar images, also fixed the default font sizes. removed the background, mad some system links, removed extra icons and went from 346kb ---> 57kb

Brilliant, thanks Ttuuxxx, I'll link the original posts to your stuff. I really should have tried to make 'em smaller, but I guess I was feeling lazy and wasn't quite sure what to remove to shrink it. Thanks Ttuuxxx :)

I usually learn from ripping things apart and seeing what does what, lol Probably why I have so many unfinished projects around the house, lol
but if you look at my examples and compare, you should get a good idea :)
fell free to use my theme with the taskbar as a starting point base. If you look at 4.2.1 you'll see my icewm themes actually using parts from one main theme and a couple of new images makes a new looking theme :) I think I had them around 10kb pets when divided up lol

I was reading a page where someone asked for an mplayer theme in the steampunk style. That motivated me to create something for IceWM in that vein. So here is my mod of Golden Mood, to a steampunk-ish style. This only the fifth or so theme I've made (first that I posted) so be kind.

Edit: I forgot to do a few images, I updated the tgz.

thanks for making the pet. Just as with ARu, my schools network wont allow me to upload any .pet because it thinks its some sort of spyware. I cant even attach one to an email. its frustrating. Glad you like it.

@ Zake_ajl,

This is a standard glitch. Everyone has been having this problem in 4.3.1. At least that's what I'm assuming you're using. Just thought to let you know, you're not alone, and it's not your fault. :)

thanks

Nice one! GoldenMood makes a great base for more elegant themes.

I was fiddling around with the Icewm package for awhile, but then I discovered Lighthouse Pup. It comes with Icewm preinstalled as well as a most of the programs I use so I just switched. It might be worthwhile checking out. Link is in my signature. Besides that, sorry I have no solution. Maybe someone else will have a look.

Wish someone would credit the original author of the Azenis style... I find that everyone and his aunt is taking credit for what was originally the work of Yingjunjiu, and was first published as a Windowblind and an MSStyle years ago!!!

Well than they have my thanks! But that's the great thing about open source and Linux, any one can add to someones else's previous contributions.

Here's a Star Trek inspired tweak of Xtreme Animated. The file has been corrected.
