BuddhaDog wrote:@ Oldyeller - Nice screenshot. Your wife does fantastic with making wallpapers! Very soothing. By the way thanks for making that Fluxbox pet I am really enjoying it.

Ok, this may be a little over the top but this Conky is just amazing! It was made by Sector11 (check the Conky thread on the Crunchbang forums):

Thanks. I had a lot of trouble getting used to the automatic menus. Dejan555 pointed me in the direction of the menu.base file which I had never heard of. Now I finally have it all figured out and very happy! 8)

Nice image, stu91

Did this in beginners, but menus can be a sort of functional eyecandy too.

Some screenies for illustration..
fluxbox menu @68k, console fbsetbg -h for details.
afterstep menu @89k, fancier and some nice tools to do colors, xml and etc.
jwm with a custom base on menu @97k, jwm can have a base menu as well.

Now if only someone would get openbox 3.5.0 fully illustrated .. supposedly it's capable but may need some extras besides imlib2 :|

Hi f00,
Some nice menu customization there 8)
One of the reason i like Openbox so much is the 'Pipe Menu' feature - i don't think i have anything left of the traditional puppy menu instead the main body of my menu are individual pipe scripts - for me i find this way a whole lot easier for menu customization and tweaking.
Current menu:

Hi Vicmz,
I get most of my wallpapers from National Geographic and Nasa images of the day - i posted the scripts some where on the forum a while back but if you are using Exprimo then they are already built in:
/root/my-applications/bin/natgeo-wallpaper
/root/my-applications/bin/nasa-wallpaper

Links for the two wallpaper from my previous post:

@ Stu91 - Wow! Beautiful. Nice menus. I prefer to do my own menus too on Fluxbox but there is a new auto-updating feature that kind of gets in the way but I kind of like it now.

@ Puppyluvr - Very cool! I am really enjoying seeing the diversity and creativity of my fellow "Puppians". : )

Hi BuddhaDog,
The Puppy menu updater is kind of clunky and slow but is easily disabled in /usr/sbin/fixmenus ( near the bottom ) - im not sure about fluxbox but with Openbox and Pekwm there are some scripts posted on the forum to generate dynamic applications menu on the fly but leaves the rest of your menu alone.

Here is a guide for how i set up a basic dynamic menu for Openbox.

@Stu91 - I was just reading about Dunst over on the Crunchbang forum. Is that it up there on the top of the screen? How did you do that? Did you compile it yourself or is there a .pet?
