Sylvander:-

What responses do you get when you try to start SlimJet from the terminal? The latest version I'm using here in 570 has for a long while been 14.0.16.0.

Make sure you've deleted /root/.cache/slimjet & /root/.config/slimjet, and allow it to set itself up again from scratch. All the Chromium-based browsers are 'fussy' like this.....I don't know quite how Flashpeak have coded SlimJet over the years, but it seems to be even more fussy!

Mike.

Sylvander,

There is a slimjet-14.0.16.0-slack14.0.sfs which has the added extras needed for Slacko 5.7.0 if you want something which you can just load and go

I have this working. :D
Except youtube_videos=HTML5 won't play:
"Your browser does not currently recognise any of the video formats available."

Given the above, do I still need to do this?

Before doing the above, was and am having trouble with Firefox, as follows:
At the beginning of a new session, I can click the "save" icon, and it will work OK, and also at shutdown/reboot the "do you wish to save" box is displayed, BUT...
Once I run Firefox, and it auto-updates...
Clicking the "save" icon freezes the system, and...
At shutdown/reboot, the "do you wish to save" box doesn't appear.
Instead I get text on a black halted screen, and must hit "ctrl+alt+backspace".
Hence, I cannot save any of the firefox updates. :(

Should a start a new thread on this?
