Nice job on this Puplet! I like it. I was going to do the same thing in Woof, but now I don't have to. Thanks!

BTW, when I put in a USB stick, it doesn't seem to mount, that is, I don't see it on the desktop. But I can see it in Thunar, no problem!

Mike

P.S. I loaded up LibreOffice.sfs I notice that to launch it, I have to go to Usr->Bin, and launch libreoffice3.5. Should it have gone into the menus?

Never mind. When I reboot, it shows up in the menus.!!!!!

Here you go. I came up with something like this using your Valiant.

Great job.

Liste des applications
J'apprécie bien ce service / It's clear and usefull
Désolé pour my poor English.
Is there a pet for that (see screenshot) ? This menu of applications is the one that I would like by default on each o my puppies.

Bravo encore, Jejy69.

In saluki we had that problem also, that is because the icon cache isn't updated by SFS loader, if you add this to the bottom of the fixmenus script that should load the menus without restartingX.

Code: Select all

gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor/
touch --no-create /usr/share/applications/

Hello !

Nice look badrra, more beautiful than Mac Os X ! :D

Merci Pelo, je t'avoue que je connaissais pas cette application, peux tu me dire ce que tu as lancé ?

@ Mike, I'm sorry I have not responded, I had not seen the new posts on the thread ...
Thanks Geoffrey, I searched the solution too to use SFS, but I didn't found. This is solved now. :D

I used the original Zukitwo-Dark theme that came with the distro. I also used emerald to tweak the windows a little bit then add an elegant wallpaper to match it all, and there you have it.

Resize personal storage file does not work

pourquoi ne puis-je pas augmenter mon fichier personnel ?
Cannot increase the size of personal storage.

Alors pourquoi parle-t-on anglais ? A eux de traduire pour une fois, il ont bien étudié une langue étrangère à l'école ?
Cuando me voy en el forum iberico, yo encuentro a Medor.
No es necessario de hablar inglès aqui !

Hi all,

I've downloaded the iso and i have to say, much better than the PET for lucid.
But i have found one problem. The sound is a little fast than it is suppose to be. the strange thing it is only in gnome mplayer, particularly the audio not the video. But that's ok, i have found that switching the Audio Output to ALSA solves it (I wrote this because maybe it will help somebody).
vicmz wrote:One thing I missed from regular Puppy Linux is a button on the taskbar to show the desktop (i.e. a button that minimizes all windows at once)
@vicmz
You can make it comes by clicking the right mouse click on the panel (or any icon on the panel) then panel then add new items, you will find it as Show Desktop.

Tout est bon, rien à jeter excepted :

Le son sort très bien, sound is good on my distro.
Wifi sans probleme, wireless, sin problema.
Good job, sauf... sauf ?
Pas moyen de redimensionner la sauvegarde !
I can't resize my personal storage.

Jejy, where are you ? On one another project ?

Bonne journée. Pelo

Hello Jejy69 and Badrra

I love what you have created.

Please bear with me. I am new to this type of experimenting.

Badrra,
How do I make a puppy like your example macpuppy2.jpg?
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 206#654206
Specifically, how to make a *dock* or *panel* like your example?

Do I download Valiant from Sourceforge.net then do something to the .iso?

Is the Valiant listed on Sourceforge.net the most recent Valiant?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/latestxfcepuppy/

Thank you for all your good work!

The macpuppy look

Hi Sky Aisling,

Badrra will correct me if I'm wrong. But it looks as if he created the macpuppy look by installing Wbar: that it, the launch bar in the center on the bottom just above the taskbar is what a Wbar usually looks like. Since XFCE-Mate is based on Slack0, he may have --after downloading and setting up the ISO for XFCE-Mate-- installed CatDude's pets available from this link: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 960#591960. Remember to install both pets. Don't hesitate to ask for help in configuring Wbar to launch the applications you want it to.

Ahoy! Valiant Ship! The good ship Banana Cream hailing you.
Well, I'm tinkering with Valiant Ship v1. tonight.
The machine that I am using:
ZaReason Big Lap, Intel(R) Celeron(R) M CPU 410 @ 1.46GHz, Resolution 1440x900 pixels

Here are some things I've found -

CatDudes *Wbar*
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 960#591960
Thank you mikeslr for your private message that was so helpful.

*Wbar* won't save to desktop on reboot.
I have to find the app and *reload* for it to appear on the desktop.
The edits I make to Wbar hold fine, however.
(As an aside, does anybody know how to make the elegant shadows on the icon images I've added? CatDude's icons are so beautiful. I've made the bar look like a dog's breakfast with mismatched icon images. I'll probably head over the *eye candy* dept. to continue this question.)
EDIT: Wbar issue SOLVED. I placed Wbar into startup list. menu/desktop/XFCE/session and startup
The situation with Wbar picking up the background image still exsists but is solved by Lobster's suggestion,
A little tip for wbar users . . . sometimes the background picks up from the desktop. Right click on the wbar (but not an icon) to get rid of this . . .
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 960#591960

The desktop icons i.e. *file system*, *sda1*, *sba1*, *home*, *trash* get scrambled out of position on reboot.

Puppy Package Manager Desktop Repositories
Can't find a cursor editor such as *Pcur* to change the style of the cursor.
Can't find *VLC* media application.

Time clock in panel (lower right side of panel)
Sometimes holds, sometimes doesn't upon reboot.
(I've also had same issue with Lucid Puppy-528.)

I miss the desktop button too.

This is a fun Puppy. Thank you!

Here is a screenshot of the desktop. This image is way to heavy for a desktop background (1.59 MG), I realize that. I will edit and use a lighter image.

XFCE : coloré juste comme il faut

voici en photo la version que je possède. C'est absolument parfait. Pas de bug constaté à ce jour après une dizaine (ou plus) d'utilisations.

Chapeau au concepteur Jejy69.
