Thunar-1.6.2 with tabs. Double middle click to open in new window or go to Edit > Preferences > Behavior Tab > Middle Click > Open folder in new tab. Or, you can just right click on a folder and choose open in new tab or window.

Please help this blunderer.

Thanks,
Sheldon

Ironically, I did the same thing a few minutes before I read this post! After some digging around in thunar config files I found the fix. Open thunar and do <ctrl>m, and the menu bar is back.

Carolina System Info

This is a system information tool from Porteus v2 OS modified to work in Carolina/Lina-lite. A fairly complete system overview with the ability to save the current file displayed or do a full system dump.

Edit: Fixed system dump not working

Thanks a lot, rg66. I'm running Lucid Puppy 5.28 just now, so I downloaded and installed
the Carolina System Info under that puppy.
Seems to work fine.

Thanks Sheldon, but I can't take much credit because it's not my script. I'm curious to know though if the Carolina tab worked under a different puppy, specifically the version and packages elements. I couldn't get the "boot disk" element to work no matter what I tried.

Thanks Sheldon, looks like it will work in more puppies than just lina. I might have another go at "Boot Disk" but after some hours on the net for a solution, I don't think it will happen.

Xkill, kill rouge windows or apps from thunar right click menu. Works on desktop (restart X) and in thunar.

Here's an app by Geoffrey and myself to search the boot partition and list the save files so you can back one up, It gives a choice of save directory and appends the date to the end.

Edit: Added multiple file selection and save confirmation splash screen. Fixed canceling at "choose directory" window saves to root.

Edit2: Allows saves to the current directory or choose a location and a pulsating progress bar has been added.

Edit3: Fixed typo in .desktop file. Changed to version 1.0.1

Here are three apps to upgrade your Carolina/Saluki/Fluppy install

mtpaint 3.44.13 has grid feature

Bulldog finder 2.1 - now gives proper right click menu item for Thunar

Extract pet 1.7 - now gives proper right click menu item for Thunar

.

UnPak-0.1

Yet another app by Geoffrey and myself. UnPak-0.1, extract different types of packages all from one icon in the right click menu with the choice of current directory or choose a directory. Package types include: .deb, .pet, .rpm, .sfs, .pkg.tar.xz (arch), and .xzm (porteus).

The method of extracting rpm package is to use 'exploderpm'
It gives more consistent results as BarryK found out.

rpm mime handling
I created a RPM icon for ROX-Filer. This is in Woof, so will be present regardless of what ROX package Puppy is built with.

I have changed /usr/local/bin/pupzip so that it uses 'exploderpm' instead of 'rpm2cpio'. Hopefully this will expand all RPMs, not just those from Mageia.

Note that pupzip is not handling RPMs in the most efficient manner, as exploderpm is being used to expand the RPM and convert to a .tar file, then open in Xarchive (or Xarchiver). So, there is an intermediary expansion in /tmp.

X-Con-0.1

X-Con is a combination of UnPak and a converter script. The end result is a right click app that lets you extract or convert packages.

Package types include: .deb, .pet, .rpm, .sfs, .pkg.tar.xz (arch), .xzm (porteus), .lzm (slax), and .txz (slackware). All supported package types can be converted to .pet or .sfs

Edit: More bug fixes. Changes to version 1.0.2

Edit2: Cleaned up the code

Updated X-Con to allow for editing directory before building pet or sfs. See above post.

X-Con-1.0 is released, we're calling it finished (for now).

A few bug fixes, enhancements, and it should unpack most rpm's now (hopefully). See original X-Con post above to download.

Pack-Ed-1.0, edit pet or sfs packages.

Created from X-Con, it extracts then rebuilds packages after editing all from the right click menu.

Edit: Added better exit function and an overwrite confirmation dialog, Version changed to 1.1

BackUpSaveFile has been updated to be more in line with UnPak and X-Con. Allows saves to the current directory or choose a location and a pulsating progress bar has been added. See the first post on this page.

X-con 1.0.1 is out. Fixed some exit script issues. See original post above.

Edit: Fixed a few typo's, same version number

Edit2: Added more exit statements. Changed to version 1.0.2

Edit3: Cleaned up the code, same version number
