**YAD.....

17.10.16 delta brings:

- ffmpeg-2.8.11 with thanks to 666philb - test .flac now plays...

- jwm_config/shortcuts in woofCE update from zigbert - I think - but I don't see new behaviour in ROX - maybe I missed something? ....needs testing....

**YAD = Yet Another Delta - <20MB much easier to UPLOAD than 250MB!!!

There have been 2 isos and 12 deltas since we started this process....

This has nothing to do with Rox.

Did it and using the Nvidia driver.
Had no problems.
Used Getnvidia from here:
getnvidia-1.0.pet
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=72405

What driver you trying to compile?
What specific version of ZestyPup?
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

The older nvidia drivers are not being updated for the newer kernels....

You may need to install an older kernel? 4.4 and 3.16 are available....

I'm not on my desktop with nvidia but I think you may have the same card - and it uses the 304.137 driver which has been updated to kernel 4.13 status so is fine for 4.9

Suggest you check on the nvidia site for the correct driver....

Hi PeeBee :)
still running 17.10.15
peebee wrote:... but I don't see new behaviour in ROX - maybe I missed something? ....needs testing......
I got the ROXs expected behaviour by copying ROX-filer binary (605K) from 17.10.01 (inside the directory /usr/local/apps/ROX-Filer/ROX-Filer/ )and replacing the existing one (665K...note the size difference).

MP4 videos crash chromium if hardware acceleration is turned on (
near the end of advanced settings). I get the same result using
google-chrome on xenialpup64. The MP4s play OK with hardware
acceleration turned off. Sample MP4s can be found here:

http://money.cnn.com/video/archive

I'm using both firefox and chromium SFS provided by peebee. Running
17.10.15 Computer is a Dell Inspiron 530 tower with intel core duo
running 3.2 ghz and with 4 gig ram.

Concerning zesty, I miss having the usual flash installer (for firefox)
so I install getflash-1.7.pet. I dunno if this void is by design, but I
do know that some sites still require flash player.

Also, I miss PupClockset which allows displaying date as well as 12 hour
time.

But ignoring these minor issues, 17.10.15 is capable of doing everything
I'm interested in, and IMO it's shaping up nicely.

Hi Art,

Hey, you don't need PupClockSet to have 12 hr date + time. You can easily set it yourself in /root/.config  In fact, most people don't know that with a few typed strokes, you can make the clock (in any pup and/or ddog) become whatever you want it, from size, to color, to dual lines, to etc, etc, etc

Thanks belham2. I make the request for PupClockset partially because I
want to make suggestions for (gui) features that average users might
also like and appreciate ... not just me :)

Radky advised to remove PupClockset because it is incompatible with pThemes - different clock format strings I believe....

Hi Charlie

17.10.01 had a very old ROX from TahrPup which presumably had the code patch referred to at:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 290#916290

Sadly it also has the horrible copy = overwrite with no warning dialog behaviour...

Recent builds have the Slacko-704 build which copies properly.

If you can find me either:
- a build with both the move cols patch and correct copy behaviour
or
- the patch

we can consider changing
until then I'm sticking with the s704 build....= no col moving (same as Slacko-6.9.9.9)

Cheers
peebee

Hello artsown
I think hardware decoding is not supported for Chrome on linux. The patches have been submitted but not reviewed yet. So it will be Chrome 64 at the earliest for them to be committed. See this thread:
https://www.phoronix.com/forums/forum/p ... -to-stable
There are Chromium builds around with the patches, but it's not a surprise if they crash!

I'm pretty sure the one in Akita had that patch, and didn't overwrite files without asking...

About clocks... I always want the day, date and time showing.. Like

Thur 7th Nov, 21:32

Dunno about others, but i find it very useful..

With some tools it can't be done, and I had to get into the JWM config files..

This is the most updated version there is.

jun7 did over 100 updates recently, the repo linked above adds to those and includes some other patches..
