I suggest 'Start operation' instead of 'Burn'.
Yes. It makes more sense to user. In the Microsoft World I've noticed that
many programs have a button labelled 'Apply' when they want
to start an operation. mtpaint has an 'Apply' button too .

Hope I posted in the right place.
I am having problems with P-burn.
When I add files to be burned onto CD, it never completes.
Hard drive light never goes out.
There is nothing wrong with the CD or the files that I want to burn.

Temporary storage space is important
and it should be a fast hard drive (not a USB stick)
800meg for CD
4.2 gig for DVD

Any of this apply to your problem?
It is not recommended to run other heavy applications (or powersaving/screensavers) while burning, as this can cause buffer under-runs if your PC was not able to allocate enough time to processing the burn. You will then have a useless disc. Choosing a burn speed that is too high, or CPU-priority that is too low, could also cause buffer under-runs.
Pay close attention to the minimum and maximum writing speeds of your media, and compare them with the maximum writing speeds of your drive. Writing to media with a minimum speed setting higher than your drive is capable of will result in failure - for example, attempting to write to a 4x-10x CDRW on a drive with a maximum RW speed of 2x. This is most likely to be an issue when using new discs in an old system.

I noticed that CD/DVD burning consumes a lot of memory.
I mostly use re-writeable disks.

Hi,
I write this post after having browsed the pburn thread without finding something to succeed in burning a dvd which has been already burned "multisession" and left "open".
Here are the logs of the various trials performed: all merged in one text file (remave the fake tar.gz)
I have had input/outout errors as also INVALID ADDRESS FOR WRITE error
I do not understand

My question is easy : can we burn an ISO to
CD-RW with pBurn ?
PS:
i Failed with Pburn before trying on windows 7
Right click on the ISO : Windows burn but check told error, once burn finished
ImgBurn is blocked by antivirus Avira
NCH Express Burn succeed in burning Vivid

Pelo, could you check you 'pburn -D' in terminal.
After burning, there is an option to save log. Very informative...

Just answer, Zigbert, CD-RW would it be possible with Burn, if every thing goes well, or not ?

CR-RW is of course meant to work with pBurn.
But no one can help out without any information.

It is not ok using the pBurn 4-branch with cdrkit as backend. See main post.
pburn-3.7.18 is the last release supporting cdrkit
But the output of the dependency check is messy ... I guess you have a symlink from wodim to cdrecord, and that might fool the checker a bit.
