I like pclock .35. It requires pschedule 1.0 or 1.02
It could replace the much bigger lightsword alarm

I dont have elinks installed but ...don570 wrote:I made a crude htmlviewer by launching the terminal and running elinks
It always opens with an error message though.
Is there any way to get rid of that
It shows the page reasonably well and it's fast.

Probably needs quotes around the ${file} ... common breakage with spaces or special characters** EDIT:: don, please look at the Zathura GUI thing, especially loading it from the menu, nearly always get a 'file not found' error when loading anything from my mounted drives (/media/Home [sda1]/files/downloads/***.pdf, to be precise)
Yeah I've done that just now, gonna give it a test.. Needed a bit of hacking to be Akita-friendly as well... But should work OK now, let's see...technosaurus wrote:Probably needs quotes around the ${file} ... common breakage with spaces or special characters** EDIT:: don, please look at the Zathura GUI thing, especially loading it from the menu, nearly always get a 'file not found' error when loading anything from my mounted drives (/media/Home [sda1]/files/downloads/***.pdf, to be precise)

Yes it works fine, thank you.sc0ttman wrote:I've attached an i18n'd pppoe.. I think rodin.s made it...
Anyway, wuwei, if you can test this and report back how it works, that will be great (NOTE, it does not yet include my update for auto-symlinking to /root/Startup, after successful connection)...
I hope you can open this archive!
That's awesome, I tried running strip on a dir, before rebuilding as an SFS, but it crashed my PC - had to reboot.. I think it had something to do with absolute symlinks pointing to files in my actual filesystem... But I'm gonna try yours today Thankstechnosaurus wrote:here is the start of a script to optimize the contents of a directory (for example before you run dir2sfs for the pupXXX.sfs)
Many scripts rely on its timer function, as 01micko states at the bottom, I like zigbert and 01micko, prefer yaf-splash where possible. I may add gtkdialog-splash, as its tiny, but I don't think anything needs it.. And the VAST majority of scripts that use it, do not use the only function it has, that is worth adding - UTF8 support..don570 wrote:Why not upgrade yaf-splash?

Notecase is big, I dont use it myself, its in the PPM if anyone wants it.. Pupphelp-101 is a good reason to have it, but it's not localised.. The final release will contain a custom, localised help file. I might include only the Pupphelp-101 file, so it can be easily viewed after installing notecase. Why isn't Notecase installed?
And yes, I could remove pCD and pcdripper and Pawdioconvert - using only pmusic for CD ripping and audio conversion, but they total about 60kb, so there's not much point, really.. I could just as easily remove a wallpaper image. If the icon pmusic 1.8.3 can replace pcd and Asunder.
It can even do some conversions. So if you're looking
to cut the size down further there's lots of applications
that can be axed. Bacon recorder replaces precord.
The pppoe GUI and terminal messages should be localised, at least in German, I think, I'll have to re-check, it might be Russian... But the important thing is that it connected the same, with no problems..wuwei wrote:The only thing I am not sure of is....what did you change?
shinobar did this intentionally.. I agree that it doesn't seem to make much sense when switching locales, but after switching Xorg settings, then it does make sense to see it again. I have often thought about skipping the 'Personalize Settings' GUI after it's been run once and X restarted, moving straight onto 'Step 2' instead... Not sure how to do this just yet...PS: When starting pfix=ram I noticed that the Personalized Settings come up twice. Once as they should immediately after booting, and the second time after restarting X. Is that intentionally?
I never had any luck with this program at all! Ever - not with any version! And it bothers me. Any reports, fixes or help I can get in this area will be great... For example, it also reports that lame is not installed, but it is.wuwei wrote:This application apparently misses some codecs.
I tried to convert a small MPG to AVI with xvid and mp3 codec. No dice. It seems to be missing the needed codecs. You might want to look into the same program in Lucid 528. Seems to have no problems there.
Akita does not have Tcl/Tk - only 'jimtcl', a tiny, cut-down alternative. Mtpaint-snapshot might still work with jimtcl...wuwei wrote:Usually Puppy has mtpaint screen shot, which is fine for entire screen shots.
I have PM'd radky about this, it's been 'annoying' me for a long time.Akita contains PupSnap and that has much more options.
But...it is not retaining the settings from a previous shot. And with 8 positions to fill in, that is a bit cumbersome to do for each and every little shot.
I think there are none to edit.Tried the /usr/local/pupsnap directory, but couldn't find anything where one would change the default settings.
No it isn't in German. That's okay with me, but if that was your goal, it still needs some fixing. The pppoe GUI and terminal messages should be localised, at least in German,
You are right. This FFconvert is tricky. Most Puppies don't get it right, yet 528 did, for whatever reason, at least with xvid+mp3.I never had any luck with this program at all! Ever - not with any version! And it bothers me
Yes it is a great little application and could do much more than mtscreenshot. If...the remembering can be implemented. Appreciate your work on this.it's been 'annoying' me for a long time.
Maybe someone who knows how to use gtrayicon can do it - it is installed in Akita... OR puptray, the customisable BaCon tray tool... All would be needed is a bash/shell script that monitors open ROX processes, greps the paths and dirs, and updates the puptray config file with the results...don570 wrote:I tried out 'Akita'
It has the fastest menus I have seen!!
My biggest wish is for a windows list,
so I can quickly see a list of all my open windows.
I may have a huge number open.
Is there any software to do that. The ICEWM has
a tray icon to list the ROX windows.
