If you mean the 10alsa file which shinobar posted I can tell you that I made the substitution and apart from two "mic boost" mute checkboxes which it still doesn't remember It is now remembering all the other settings. Those two are not a problem since they are not in use and the faders are down anyway. Workable for now and hopefully will be sorted for the next release.DaveS wrote:Tried new save file to fix sound issue, no joy. This does not happen with earlier versions so has been introduced with '19'
This same problem cropped up in Racy a few beta versions ago all of a sudden but was gone in the next one so not sure what caused it.

Themes in packet manager
Hello
Im testing the new Saluki 19 now Jemimah, im sure you know this since there is a flood of themes pets in the root of www.smokey01.com/saluki, but ill say it anyways. There is lots of missing themes pets in the package manager. They are listed but you will get an error "404 " when you try to download.

Saluki won't load from the .deb(Other). Appreciate a .pet, please & update PPM.
plus from the opera download site, select other (tar) and you will get a tar.xz then extract it to where you want it using this
Code: Select all
#tar xf opera*.tar.xz
sometimes opera will comes as a bz2. for the .bz2
Code: Select all
# tar xf opera*.bz2

The fix got whacked from rc.shutdown when I updated pupsaveconfig. It will be fixed in the next release.OscarTalks wrote:If you mean the 10alsa file which shinobar posted I can tell you that I made the substitution and apart from two "mic boost" mute checkboxes which it still doesn't remember It is now remembering all the other settings. I did a manual frugal install of Saluki 0.19 to a flash drive.
It's working well so far.

Appreciate your ref, af, but you've been around long enough to know that I only run liveCD and FULL, and when it comes to SW manipulation, I have reserved a position at the bottom of the class...Sage wrote:

saving asound.state
Do not, jemimah.jemimah wrote:The fix got whacked from rc.shutdown when I updated pupsaveconfig. It will be fixed in the next release.will save your settings.Code: Select all

Suppose the case the alsa failed at the first boot but has chance to recover at next boot, maybe because of the timeing issue.
In this case, the corrupt asound.state is saved at the first boot, and looses chance to get recovered at next boot.
See the entry in the Barry's blog:
http://bkhome.org/blog/?viewDetailed=02711
The point is the line 84 in my 10alsa posted before:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 174#620174
Code: Select all
[ $? -eq 0 ] && alsactl -f /etc/asound.state store # shinobar

What a gem you are! Danke.I've uploaded it to the repo.
A bit odd? I know I'm not supposed to rely on FULL installation, but long experience shows that it invariably works. It did with v.19 on first boot of FULL -everything operated correctly.
Subsequently, it plonked me at the CLI instead of running xwin.
When I did xwin manually, the NIC was absent, Couldn't call it up with Frisbee or SNS. Had to load it with Dougal's routine. It worked. Hard reset - NIC settings saved and working but still requires xwin every time.
Confirmed. Apparently not clearing /tmp on shutdown causes major issues for a full install.Sage wrote:What a gem you are! Danke.I've uploaded it to the repo.
