Java JDK 1.7u25, 1.6u45
I tried the 1.7u7 sfs in latest Slacko beta and it works great in Opera-12.02 and Firefox-16.0.1, thank you.
Just as a suggestion, take it fwiw, I would leave out the /usr/lib/seamonkey and /usr//lib/firefox plugin directories. 2 reasons.
1. in the main sfs or savefile /usr/lib/seamonkey or /usr/lib/firefox can be a symlink to /usr/lib/seamonkey-$version or /usr/lib/firefox-$version respectively. Then your directories will be hidden at the bottom of the layered stack.
2. MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH="/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins". This is set in /etc/profile overriding run-mozilla.sh (which isn't used in puppy anyways), making your added dir redundant.
Just a suggestion .

Ahh sh*t...
Sorry
That was meant for the jre thread of yours, didn't try jdk but it may still be relevant, IDK.1. in the main sfs or savefile /usr/lib/seamonkey or /usr/lib/firefox can be a symlink to /usr/lib/seamonkey-$version or /usr/lib/firefox-$version respectively. No need to apologize. If it was relevant to one, then it holds for the other. I've linked the browser plugin similarly in all my Java packages.01micko wrote:Ahh sh*t...That was meant for the jre thread of yours, didn't try jdk but it may still be relevant, IDK.1. in the main sfs or savefile /usr/lib/seamonkey or /usr/lib/firefox can be a symlink to /usr/lib/seamonkey-$version or /usr/lib/firefox-$version respectively. I have the Java jdk-1.6u45 installed on LazY Puppy.
Question: In Puppy how do you set up the path to the java.exe. I think it has something to do with editing the bashrc file, but I really have no clue. I need the path set so I can use the Android SDK and APK-Multi-Tool for android ROM porting.
I should be able to hopefully set up the adb.exe (in the SDK folder) globally, but any insight would be welcomed.

Solved. This is what I did:
Once jdk-1.6u45.sfs is loaded:
To Set JAVA_HOME / PATH for all user, You need to setup global config in /etc/profile file for all users:
Go to /etc/profile
Next setup PATH / JAVA_PATH variables as follows: Copy and paste to the bottom
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/jre/bin
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/jre/bin
Save and close the file. Open up a terminal and type the following command to activate the
path settings immediately:
source /etc/profile
OR
. /etc/profile
