I like the PDF save comand very well

I opened one at my niece win7-IE

result: not enouph memory, engine stopped.
There were 2 gig free!!!!

pemasu's fix eliminated the SSL-error problem.

Because I'm in Wary, I had to manually download that package from Ubuntu's repo.
(It's only available via Puppy Package Manager in Ubuntu-based Puppies.)

However, this problem still persists:

while navigating Amazon.com....after typing in the first few letters of my e-mail address to log in, QtWeb crashes and disappears.

So it might be unrelated to the SSL issue...

Perhaps it seems too easy: have you tried to run qtweb in console, to login at that website, and to see if it's reported some error in console?

Thanks...looks like it's a Wary 5.1.1 problem.

Tested QtWeb 3.8.4 with all my Pups; all the CA / SSL-certificate extras were installed.
Results:
Wary 5.2.2: OK, no crashes.
Wary 5.1.4.1: OK, but certificate errors with EBay.
Wary 5.1.1: Crashes with Amazon, YouTube; EBay is OK.
Puppy Linux 4.3.1: OK, but certificate errors with EBay.
Puppy Linux 4.1.2: Crashes with YouTube; Amazon and EBay are OK.
Puppy Linux 3.0.1*: OK, but certificate errors with EBay.
Classic Pup 2.14x*: OK, no crashes.
* Remastered--changed built-in browser to SeaMonkey 1.1.19 official binary.

That's for Ubuntu-based Pups with the .deb package included in Puppy Package Manager.
Since I have Wary, I had to get it from the Ubuntu repo.

I am trying qtweb , and I have some questions :
- why is their forum down (http://qtweb.net/smf/) ?
- where can we report bugs ? for instance QTweb 3.8.5 crashes on start
- why are those certificate errors ? where does that /etc/ca-certificates.conf come from ? why is update-ca-certificates script not in puppy ? and we dont have the /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt and /etc/ssl/certs is empty...
- I cannot get flash to work if removing seamonkey ? anyone know where to set flash ? variables ? files ?
- is it possible to compile qtweb ?

Compile? Sure. As long as you don't mind grab'n the 230mb qt-everywhere-opensource pkg.

Really though- you'd be better off running the previous build as referenced in MMikes`post.

QTWeb is working well here with slako 5.6 it's fast and seems to render eveything I need. great little browser.

I found what appears to be a QT bug, while attempting ZohoMail log-in.
Same thing happens in SlimBoat (another QT-framework browser).

I've found a pet of build-108, showing ver. as 3.8.4, but featured as same as version 3.8.5.

I'm very encouraged to see that active development of QtWeb is ongoing, with a new release last month.

I've just been taking a sniff (belated thanks, ttuuxxx, for the PET). It seems to me that this has the makings of a very good Puppy browser for the (increasing?) number of us who do not require an email client built-in.

I'm really impressed that it offers a means of enabling/disabling cookies and JavaScript directly from the keyboard, which IMHO has been an unaddressed screaming need with its bigger rivals for years.

The showstopper: from my attempts to understand the file structure, I figure that bookmarks are concealed within the big binary. If that is the case, the prospect of transferring my several hundred MB of cherished bookmarks one-by-one is simply not acceptable - that's a killer.

Grrr, QtWeb has now set itself up as my default browser without my so requesting it. IMHO this is a really cheap-and-nasty move on the part of the devs, if it is of their doing, which ensures that I shall expunge it from my system.

Nonetheless, I do hope that in due course the developers will go on to produce an eminently worthy rival to the overcomplicated job-creation schemes which the Mozilla folks seem increasingly keen to thrust upon us.

I haven't seen the pet you are using but when you use the QtWeb binary it creates two folders, QtWebCache and QtWebSettings, in the same location as the binary. The bookmarks are contained in /QtWebCache/bookmarks.xbel. This file can be opened and edited as a text file. I believe when the file unins000.exe is included, which makes the browser portable, this overrides the creation of these folders.

QtWeb does not set itself up as the default browser. I suspect it is setup that way in the .pet you have used.

Missing menu entry has been fixed in qtweb-3.8.4-2-x86.pet.
It's now available here and here.

01 micko, who maintains the Ibiblio Puppy repo, said -1 has to stay there or some will get confused when it won't download from ppm (without an update).

Have a look at musher0's post over here.
Since I run Wary (and older Pups), I had the same issues with those missing libs.

/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so (flash 11.2)
user agent opera (or firefox)
Flash works in opera and firefox, which I installed portably not as pets.
(Unpackaged in their own directories, cd to where the binary is located, ./opera).
I also simply unpackaged the qtweb pet tar -zxvf and start it the same way.

Someone reported it working in pulp03 with user agent opera and plugin as above.
Was this with portable or installed qtweb and opera?

Wary 5.5 runs so slowly on here it is not worth trying to make work with qtweb/flash but I think I had the same problem.

I was definitely not using the portable version (as I don't know how to do that yet...).

It was a while ago so I don't remember the specifics of what I did (sorry), I just know I installed some version of qtweb from a pet. I may be able to work out what I did if you haven't already moved past the problem...
