So, I don't know if I must do something before/after that commands, now I can only say that in a live mode and executing the indicated steps, nothing happens and any DE doesn't start.

This bugs'll be fixed in the next version, maybe I'll release it today for a preview.

I also downloaded GIMP from your webpage, it works fine. But if you look at my picture, it got installed to the Utilites menu and not the Graphics menu. I also tried installing VLC from your page but it did not work. I have not tried VLC version from the Puppy Package Manager. I like the extra audio & subtitle control it has over GNOME player.

It'll be fixed too, it's a problem with menu entries. I improved the menu, and I arranged entries.
I think I will replace Totem with VLC 2.0.5. As you said, extra audio & subtitle control is nice in VLC.

Strange thing... Could you exec the command in a terminal ?
For example, install XFCE sfs, and type "xfce4-session" in a terminal, what is the result ?

I can understand from You answer that the others destop manager have to be installed before and they aren't included...
However, since I tried also typing only xwin and nothing else, I thought that the session restart but... nothing... hmm... I must check it again!

Ups, sorry indeed, you must install the sfs first. The integration is not possible, the iso becomes gigantic.
To go back to LXDE ( default desktop ), it's "xwin startlxde".

Possible bug report:
I think the CPU Frequency Scaling tool might not be working right in 12.12. It doesn't seem to find the drivers--the list looks more like /root. The drivers are actually in /lib/modules/3.2.29/kernel/drivers/cpufreq. wcpufreq was tazoc's program. I will notify him.

it seems to work if one opens a terminal in /lib/modules/3.2.29/kernel/drivers/cpufreq and runs wcpufreq from there.

LOL, I had the same problem as you! I also thought that the extra Desktops were included. I tried to use KDE and got a very plain looking JWM desktop. Luckily I was able to get back my dektop since I tested as RAM only and had not loaded my save file.

I need your suggest: I need to work with Bluetooth on my laptop.

My efforts are vane till today, every packet I've tried don't work.

I've tried with Bluetooth 0.5 packet, that works fine in Precise Puppy and Upup Precise, but don't work in your puplet.

What can I do?

Frugal usb install on ibm r51 thinkpad, 1.4ghz pentium-M , 1 gig ram, ati-radeon 7500 graphics. Boot straight to desktop with correct resolution, sound working, auto detected ethernet, another winner from Jejy69. Now to try on ibm netvista with the famous brookdale 845gl chip. Had success with lxpup 11.12 on both these computers. So far, favorite setup is 11.12 with mate.....FAST! This puppy linux is a lot of fun, and very addictive.

edit: no good on netvista with intel 845g. Different version of xorg compared to 11.12.

Could someone verify the md5 for LXpup 13.04 Full. 3 downloads here and 3 identical non-matching md5's.

MD5 doesn't match but appears to be working fine anyway.

Excellent work!!! LXPUP 13.01 is a beautiful puppy!!!

It's so good to be able to try the different DE's on the one install. I am however having some difficulties with changing DE's, either by WM Changer app, or manually by logging out to prompt and logging in to different session.

KDE won't run at all, just returns to login prompt.

Changing to LXDE using WM Changer (from MATE or XFCE), hangs half way. The panels disappear, then screen stays at this half-way state. I am able to click on screen and bring up menus to be able to logout to prompt and login again.

I don't know if any one else has had issues, but I am reporting in case there are some issues with changing DE's.

For KDE, it is not included, I'm trying to upload the SFS kde 4.9.5, making a weight of 650MB! So, I can't put it in the ISO.

About "WM change" it's a noob script I made . So it's not perfect. Indeed, it fails when you Log out from Xfce to another WM. You must type "ctrl+alt+backspace" to complete the command. But it's only when you are with Xfce.

Ahhhhh!, as kde was in the selection window I thought something may have been wrong.

The WM Change wasn't a big concern, as I was able to still change by dropping to a login prompt.

I have just attempted a frugal install on my HP desktop. X won't start at all, not even with lower resolutions. The desktop has an AMD 7450 Graphics card and many distros will not run on it easily.

This PC has 10 GB of RAM. I know your kernel is non-PAE. The main reason I was trying LXPUP 13.01 on this PC, was to see if I could install 01micko's new pae enabled kernel with your lxpup.

You Will get a lot of confusing messages since 12.12 has been widely spread.

Imho the memory footprint of 540mo is Nice for a full featured release but might be to large for USB stick use (bootup time). For me that is the main reason for using regular Slacko versus Fatslack. I rather SFS on the fly for the apps I don't use every day. Web browsing. And mailing is what I use most. For a full HD install 540mo is fine.

And for me...... All this mate, cinnamon, kde, etc... Stuff is over the top. I would use lxde as is. Actually I like it a lot better than xfce, and I would like to see lxde become the default for puppy. Might have a hard time convincing Barry though..... If I could get the Lubuntu look and functionality in a puppy harness (lxde, chromium, abiword, gnumerix, mail?) in a 150 meg footprint for fast USB booting ....... Opera is fine also....

It would definitely remove the main complaint About puppy from all reviews : the outdated look .... Where Lubuntu is praised for its clean and sober stylish looks.
