Nah, this doesn't count - Xorg_High was removed and it's 11 MB

Anyway, the new version feels way better ... waiting for feedback

Yes I know I am not on the needed level but I want to use Next.

So Alpha 2 has same name as Alpha 1 then? only size differ?
Okay I test it and get back within some 60 minutes if I get caught up in things I fail to get.

Hey! You can't go there ... because you do better than I do with some of this stuff ... where does that leave me if you are "a total Dummy".

.sfs no.
you can install it straight from then Debain repo in PPM - it only has a couple of dependancies.

w3m is another samll browser (terminal based) will display images if you have the image extension and feh installed - again can be installed straight from the debain repo in PPM.

I did a manual frugal install of next alpha2 and copied my save file from alpha 1 into the new directory.
I ran bootmanager to load the new xorg_high sfs and rebooted.

It's been running for a short time but it's working good so far.

Darn it, found a serious bug in wm-xdgmenu

Here's the new version, has this bug fixed - now menus look more like the traditional JWM ones. I made it scan the menus in a reversed order, since many packages fit into "Utility" (calculators, file managers, all sorts of viewers, text editors, etc').

It's also simpler, consists of just one file - the Perl code is embedded into the shell script

Just put wm-xdgmenu in /usr/bin and run "wm-xdgmenu" in a terminal emulator.

Edoc, I am a total or absolute dummy or even a True Dummy (R)

I failed to get to mount my hdd so I could not find any pet going and had no way to get how one ask the os to find firefox 5 going and another so I gave up on it and wrote wmreboot in Run

that created a save file and next time it outomounted my hdd and I could find a Firefox 5 but failed to work and found another FF5 and that one did not work either and found a FF4 pet that did work and that one forced FF6 on me and that one don't have the three small boxes in the upper right corner so it fit the screen badly now I am using F11 so it looks almost usable.

Have not tested the other things yet.

Next is too steep learning curve for me. But I very much appreciate that iguleder share it with us. Makes life very exciting

One need such challenges now and them to know one can fail at easy things. Just read the tex as Devs say. But if one fail to get that text then one are had

Yes I most likely can put it there if it was not tar and gz but now I doubt I can do that

Extract it first, then take wm-xdgmenu and put it in /usr/bin.

1) Extract it, you can do it with Xarchiver or with "tar xzf wm-xdgmenu-002.tar.gz".
2) Take wm-xdgmenu and put it in /usr/bin, overwrite the existing file.
3) Run "wm-xdgmenu" in a terminal window,
4) Have fun.

Look like I have got it going now. In menu it does show that I have two firefox which is a bit confusing. Maybe the other one is FF4 and the other FF6? Have no idea

But before I dare to make such advanced thing I just want to know this very easy thing.

How does one know if one have succeeded to do the wm-xdgmenu part?

I started all over and extracted the wm-xdgmenu-002 and that created a Dir named similar and in it was a wm-xdgmenu that way 7 kb big and I moved that one over or copied over to the /usr/bin
and then executed the wm-xdgmenu

So now I kindly ask. How do I know it it worked or not. Some easy way to confirm it?

That would be needed even if I did what you suggested now. Because that one most likely do what I already did would it not?

If it succeeded, you'll see emelFM2 in the "FileSystem" menu.

Okay I try it. But knowing I am on Sda3 and using NTFS and you most likely using ext3 or something why would it work on my set up?

Does one not have to know some added things I mean to be in the right Dir or something when one do what you wrote there.

Nope it is not there. Maybe one need to do a restart or reboot or something? I do a reboot to see what happens

Maybe a wm restart would have been enough but I had no idea how one do that so I rebooted and now ther emelfm2 is there in Filesystems.

My Firefox is still two and both start up FF6 can one take away one of them? No big deal though

Installed alpha 2 FRUGAL Lin'N'Win.
Activated my application environment.

As in alpha1, pidgin doesn't work due to missing lib's.
1 - libgtkspell. I have it and installed (learned that I can use petget for a .deb also)
2 - libenchant. I only found some libenchant-dev deb, but it looks that it isn't complete.
3 - I don't know if there is still another one missing.

Would be nice to have the missing lib's.
